CUSB adopts Mehmadpur Village as per President of India’s directives
The Community Development Cell (CDC) of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) adopted the Mehmadpur village at Panchanpur in Gaya under its Village Adoption Programme (VAP). CUSB Public Relation Officer (PRO) Md. Mudassir Alam said that the President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee in the capacity as the Visitor of Central Universities (CUs) in a meeting with Vice-Chancellors of CUs had stressed upon the social obligation of for development of surrounding areas especially villages for overall growth and development of the society and nation. The main areas where the CUs shall focus would be on gender equality, education, health, awareness about welfare schemes of the government, etc.
Taking an immediate action on the directives given by the President, CUSB Vice-Chancellor Prof. Harish Chandra Singh Rathore announced to adopt the village situated close to University’s upcoming campus at Panchanpur in Gaya. As per the direction of VC a committee was constituted to take care of the village which includes Mr. Sujeet Kumar (Assistant Professor, Mass Communication) as convenor. Other members of the committee are Dr. Anju Helen Bara (Assistant Professor, Development Studies), Dr. Gautam Kumar (Assistant Professor, Life Science), Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh (Assistant Professor, Bioinformatics), Dr. Narsingh Kumar (Assistant Professor, Psychology) and Dr. Prabhat Ranjan (Assistant Professor, Computer Science). The Vice-Chancellor has given the best wishes to the team for achieving the encouraging results from the adopted village programme.
