CUSB team wins two trophies in East Zone Youth Festival in Guwahati
A blend of cultural diversity wrapping different creative genres was displayed by the students of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) in 33rd Inter University East Zone Youth Festival named as ‘Pragjyoti Mahotsava’ - held at Gauhati University, Guwahati during this past week. A team of 30 students, under the supervision of Dr. Anil Kumar Singh Jha and Dr. Firdaus Fatima Rizvi, participated in the youth festival. CUSB students participated in various events such as debate, elocution, quiz, folk dance, music (light vocal), mime, one act play and spot photography, and won two events.
Providing more information Dr. Anil Kumar Singh Jha, Coordinator, Cultural Activities Committee informed that around 600 students of 16 universities participated in the youth festival, which was organized with the support of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and the Ministry of Youth Affair and Sports, Government of India to provide the students of the universities of eastern region of India a unique platform for showcasing their talent and potentials.
Dr. Jha informed that CUSB team won second prize in cultural procession, which was based on the peace message of Lord Buddha, Chhath Puja and Holi. Mr. Chandan Kumar, a student of BA. LL.B., secured second prize in spot photography competition. Mr. Chandan Kumar will represent CUSB in the spot photography competition in 33rd National Youth Festival, which is scheduled during 16-20 February, 2018 at Ranchi University, Ranchi, added Dr. Jha.
