Dr. Samapika Mohapatra & Dr. Chandra Prabha Pandey get ICSSR Projects
Two professors of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) bagged the two major research projects under IMPRESS Scheme of the government of India. The projects have been awarded to Dr. Samapika Mohapatra (Head, Dept. of Development Studies) and Dr. Chandra Prabha Pandey (Asst. Prof. Dept. of Education). Dr. Mohapatra would work on the sanctioned project , titled “ Effects of ‘Sharab Bandi’ (Alcohol prohibition) on Women’s Socio- Economic Conditions in Rural Bihar ” and Dr.Pandey would work on the Project , titled “Education for Citizenship: An Analysis of Policy and its Implications”.
The IMPRESS ( Impactful Policy Research in Social Science) is an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India and is being implemented by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). This schemes aims to encourage social science research in policy relevant areas, so as to provide vital inputs in policy-formulation, implementation and evaluation.
Under the first call of IMPRESS Scheme, the Steering Committee has approved her proposal along with Dr. Pandey’s proposal in the identified research domain of “Governance, Innovation and Public Policies” and “ Science and Education” respectively.
