Seven Days National Training Programme on “Pedagogical Techniques for Teacher Educators of Bachelor of Education Colleges”
(Under PMMMNMTT Scheme)
A one-week National level training programme on the theme ‘Training on Pedagogical Practices for Teacher Educators of Bachelor of Education Colleges’ has been organised by School of Education, Central University of South Bihar under ‘Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching’ scheme of MHRD from 4th September to 10th September 2017 at Hotel Oaks Bodh Gaya. Over 50 teacher educators from ten states of the country i.e. Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Kerala were the participants of the training programme. Senior Professors of different reputed institutions of the country including NCERT, New Delhi and English and Foreign Language University, Hyderabad were the resource persons of the programme. The programme was inaugurated by Professor P. C. Agrawal, Principal, Regional Institutions of Education, Bhubneshwar, Odisha.
Today (10th September 2017) is the last day of the programme. In the first session of today, Prof. S.C. Panda former principal of RIE, Bhubaneshwar and former consultant of NCTE, New Delhi discussed about ‘Strengthening Pedagogy through Andragogy based Analysis: Perspectives for Teachers Educators’. He told about various innovative pedagogies of different subjects (Science, Language, Social Science and Mathematics) to be implemented in the classrooms so that the learning may be joyful to all. In the second session, Dr. Tapan Kumar Basntia presented on ‘Pedagogy of Joyful Learning’. He gave various examples regarding how to teach social sciences through quizzes, songs, pictures and posters and about innovative ways to inculcate values among students.
Today at 3:00 PM was the valedictory session of the programme. Prof. S.C. Panda, Former Principal of Regional Institute of Education, Bhubaneshwar was the Chief Guest of the programme. Prof. Kaushal Kishore, Dean & Head, School of Education, CUSB welcomed the dignitaries and participants. The brief report of the program was presented by Mrs. Jolly Sinha (a participant), and feedback was provided by one of the representative participant of each state. While delivering the valedictory speech, Prof. S.C. Panda emphasised on the new responsibilities of teacher-educators and teachers of now a day in teaching learning system. He pointed out the mix role of good books and good teachers in making the future of a child. He emphasised on the use of innovative practices in pedagogy of teaching learning. Dr. Tapan Kumar Basantia, the Coordinator of the programme concluded the programme by presenting impact of the programme for bringing radical changes in the teacher education and school education system. In the end of the programme, certificates were distributed to all the participants of the training by the chief guest. Vote of thanks was given by Co-coordinator Dr. Tarun Kumar Tyagi. During valediction session, Dr. Ravikant, Dr. Mitanjali Sahoo, Dr. Pragya Gupta, Dr. Ravindra, Dr. Swati Gupta, Dr. Kavita, Mr. Ram Awadh, Mr. Awadhesh and Mr. Kishore, Dr. Nrapendra Vir Singh, Mr. Abhijeet Singh and other staff Members of School of Education, CUSB were present there.
