National Youth Day celebrated at CUSB
Central University of South Bihar celebrated ‘National Youth Day’ on the auspicious occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary on January 12th, 2018. On the occasion various programmes like essay competition and debate was organized at Patna campus. Renaissance Study Circle (a student platform of the University) also organized a discussion on the topic “Role of Youth in Nation Building” in which various students and faculty members put forward their thoughts.
Addressing the students Prof. Arun Kumar Sinha, Professor-in-charge of Patna Campus stated that having sound character is as important as being self-dependent for the youths. Professor R.S. Rathore said that every nation has an opportunity when maximum number of youths represents its demography and only this phase helps nation attain maximum prosperity. Head of the Media Department Dr. Atish Prashar during his address motivated the students to follow the path of Swami Vivekananda by quoting several instances from his life.
PRO of the university Md. Mudassir Alam took examples from our current life style and said that we have to change ourself and accept the value of Swami ji to give our true respect to him. Dr. Narsingh Kumar, Dr Anindya Deb also addressed the gathering. Madhurima (EVS, 4th sem), Akshay (EVS, 4th sem) and Sourabh (CMS, 2nd sem) won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively in the debate competition.
Similarly at Gaya campus the students enthusiastically participated in competitions like essay writing, quiz, painting and fancy dress. Further, the faculty members and students expressed their views on Swami Vivekananda. Faculty members, namely Prof. S. P. Shrivasatava, Dr. Yogesh Pratap Shekhar, Dr. Jitendra Ram, Dr. Haresh Narayan Pandey, Dr. Alok Kumar Gupta, Dr. Pranav Kumar, Dr. Pradhan, Dr. Pragya Gupta presented their views on Swami Vivekananda. Among the students Abhijeet Arya, Chandan Bharti and Akhilesh Kumar Singh spoke about the Swami Vivekananda, while Adarsh Ranjan recited poetry.
