Two-day special lecture on English novels delivered by Prof. Murari Prasad during April 29-30, 2019
The Department of English of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) organized the special lecture on ‘English Indian Novel’ during April 29-30, 2019. During the two day event the novels and books written by Indian writers were discussed. Prof. Murari Prasad from Purnea University delivered the lectures during the four sessions conducted in two days. Prof. Prasad broadly discussed about the content of Salman Rushdie’s Midnight’s Children and Kiran Desai’s ‘The Inheritance of Loss’.
The main speaker started the day by describing the history of Indian novels and its development history. Further in the second session he had discussed the contents of the Midnight’s Children. In the second day Prof. Prasad elaborated about the writings of famous writer Kiran Desai along with her writing style. In the last season he shared about the feedbacks of various authors about the works of Salman Rushdie and Kiran Desai.
On this occasion Prof. Prabhat Kumar Singh, Dean & Head, School of Languages while introducing the chief guest spoke about the aims and objectives of the special lecture series. Prof. Singh also congratulated his colleagues for successful conduct of the event. On this occasion the faculty members of Department of English namely Dr. Suresh Kurapati, Dr. Arpana Jha, Dr. Saroj Kumar, Mr. Abhay Leonard Ekka were present along with the students.
