Research:

    1. Identification of novel epitopes from Neoantigen/Antigen for the generation of novel epitope based vaccine for the treatment of Cancer and other diseases.
    2. Dissecting the role of Telomerase complex and Notch signaling in the modulation of Cancer and Rheumatoid arthritis.
    3. Study on modulation of Foxp3 expression in response of arsenic and correlation with Rheumatoid arthritis.
    4. Generating Tumor specific T cells from Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs) to treat Hepatocellular Cancer.
    5. Comparison of HSCs in diseased versus normal after full term pregnancy.
  • My research interests are in the area of immunology particularly on stem cells to treat immune mediated diseases. I am  involved in the generation of immune cells mainly platelets, designer T cells and Treg cells from Hematopoietic stem cells (HSC), induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells and Embryonic stem (ES) cells which can be used for adoptive immunotherapy and likely to contribute toward treatments of cancers, asthma, and autoimmune diseases
  • For the first time we have reported that T lineage cells can be generated from iPS cells has been published in Cellular Immunology. This breakthrough research is very important for developing therapeutic immune cells since it provides a potential treatment target for patients.
  • We have made significant contributions to the area of stem cell, lung biology, proteomics, immunomodulation and T cell based therapy, which is evident from our 56 peer reviewed full-length publication records in a variety of top class scientific journals and books.
  • Our research publications are cited by more than 3500 times by other research groups all over the world, which show high international recognition of our work and has very high impact with h-index 23 and i10-index 32
  • I have served as a Principle investigator in SERB funded grant and DST-FIST Level-1 as well as co-investigator in five major grants funded by American Society of Cancer and from several other organizations and has submitted two patents proposal based on iPS cells.
  • I have received several awards to travel Japan and California and was invited to present seminars at different universities in USA, India (and GE Healthcare, USA.
  • I was recognized as Best Postdoctoral Fellow in 2009 and ‘received several other awards from CSIR, CCRUM and Bharat Seva trust etc.
