Mrs. Amrita Srivastava
PhD (Bio-Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi)
Dr. Srivastava joined CUSB as Assistant Professor in 2012 and obtained a PhD degree from Banaras Hindu University in 2014. During her academic career she received M.Sc. gold medal and qualified for GATE and CSIR-JRF in 2007. She has presented her work at several international/national conferences and received best oral (Symposium on Plant Biology and its Role in Sustainable Food and Energy Production, 2012) and poster (International Conference on Mycology and Plant Pathology Biotechnological Approaches, 2012) awards. She received the Young Scientist travel award by DST (2012).
Areas of Expertise/Research interest:
Currently working on characterization of microbial siderophores, a kind of secondary metabolite and various symbiotic and antibiotic interactions mediated by it. This includes anti-fungal and anti-cancerous properties of siderophore, physiological effects on plants along with siderophore mediated heavy metal bioremediation.
