Priya Ranjan is a post graduate in sociology who also holds a doctorate from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Before joining as an Assistant Professor in Center for Sociological Studies at the Central University of South Bihar, Gaya, he was teaching Sociology at Department of Sociology in Kamala Nehru College (University of Delhi). He has also qualified UGC-NET (June, 2009), JRF (Dec, 2009) in Sociology. He received his doctorate for his work titled “Spirituality, Religious institutions and Social processes: An Ethnographic Account of Maharshi Mehi Ashram, Bhagalpur, India”.

Priya Ranjan is spiritually inclined and seeks for certain timeless universals and holism in not just his personal quest but even when dealing with matters mundane, material and temporal that a discipline like sociology  as such grapples with. In this regard Yoga, Satsang and Meditation are his passions on which he even conducts workshops for those yearning for matters sublime and divine along with participating in interfaith dialogues that he sees as a needed process in these times of assertive religious and community identities.  He is also associated with The New Leam (New Delhi) team which works on different aspects of education and conducts various types of workshops for school children and teachers. The New Leam team also publishes a magazine named as ‘The New Leam’. Priya Ranjan has also participated in various national/international seminars/conferences/workshops. His articles have been published in various journals and books.

Dr. Parijat has done graduation in Sociology from Faculty of Social Sciences, B.H.U., Varanasi in 2007.He completed his masters from the Department of Sociology in 2009. After that, he has done his M.Phil from Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP) under B.H.U. in 2010. Meanwhile, he has qualified for National Eligibility Test and received Junior Research Fellowship from U.G.C. in Dec. 2009. Banaras Hindu University has awarded him Doctorate in 2015. He has participated and presented papers in various International and National Seminars and Workshops according to his interest and expertise. He has several research papers in different national and international journals. He is also the member of various academic and professional bodies. He has joined this University in Dec. 2015. Before joining this University, he was associated with Law School, B.H.U. as teaching faculty.
