Areas of Expertise/Research Interest:
Dr. Longjam Kabita Chanu is an assistant professor in the Department of Geology, CUSB Gaya. She has vast experience in research in the field of Igneous Petrology and Geochemistry of mafic and felsic volcanic rocks. She has received the postdoctoral research in the geochemistry and petrogenesis of Ophiolite rocks from Indo-Myanmar range, Northeast India. Her PhD area includes Prcambrian mafic volcanics and magmatism in Central India, Indian subcontinent.
She has published international papers from her research work especially from Central India volcanism, with reference to Precambrian cratons of India. She has widely presented papers, abstracts and presentation in the international/national conference. She has attended and presented her papers in the 35TH International Geological Congress (IGC), Cape Town, South Africa. She is the recipient of Women Scientist Scheme (WOS-A), Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi.
