One-Day Webinar on Quality Education, Accreditation and Teacher Development
A one-day webinar was organized on the theme 'Quality Education, Accreditation and Teacher Development by Department of Teacher Education, School of Education, Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) on Friday, 06th August, 2021 through Google Meet platform to celebrate the first anniversary of National Education Policy 2020.
The programme was inaugurated with Saraswati Vandana and reciting the preamble of constitution of India. Afterwards the convener of the programme Prof. Kaushal Kishore, Head, Department of Teacher Education, Dean, School of Education welcomed the eminent speakers of the programme i.e. Prof. Pankaj Arora, Director, Institute of Life Long Leaning, Prof. CIE, Delhi University and Prof. P. K. Sahoo, Former Vice-Chancellor, Former Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Allahabad, all the teaching fraternity, all the participants and guests. In his deliberation, Prof. Pankaj Arora mentioned that the prime attributes of NEP-2020 flexibility, openness, and multi-disciplinarity. By emphasizing the multi-disciplinarity approach, this NEP-2020 is going to break the hierarchy among all educational streams. This approach will provide diversified opportunities by keeping individual identity of each disciple intact and alive. He mentioned that quality concerns are always a challenging task in every filed especially in educational field and for this Ministry of Education is also working in the direction setting the learning attributes for learners at all learning levels.
Prof. P. K. Sahoo highlighted that the ethics and morale needed in education sector. He also mentioned the major purpose of refresher course, faculty induction programme, orientation programme and workshops etc initiated by NCERT for the development of teachers and teaching-learning process. He emphasized that this new education policy will not only address the needs of different sectors but also open new dimensions for quality research and surely bring a paradigm shift in education process.
The programme came to an end with expressing heart-felt gratitude by Prof. Rekha Agrawal, Nodal officer of PMMMNMTT scheme, CUSB to the speakers for sharing their enriching experiences with all the participants. The programme was moderated by Dr. Kavita Singh and attended by more than 100 participants. The programme was also graced by Prof. Atish Prashar, Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof. Brajesh Kumar, Dean School of Management, Dr. Samapika, Dr. Aditya Mohanti, Dr.Parijat Pradhan, Dr. Tapan Kumar Basantia, Dr. Ravikant etc.
