CUSB vows for National Unity on 141st birth anniversary of Sardar Patel
To mark the forthcoming 141st birth anniversary of India’s great freedom fighter and freedom India’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) organised special events on Friday, October 28, 2016. For paying homage to India’s Iron Man Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel various programmes were organised at Patna and Gaya campuses of the University. At Patna campus, elocution and slogan writing competition were organised, which were coordinated very well by faculty members, Dr. Anindya Deb and Dr. Rajesh Kumar Ranjan. The topic of elocution was “Relevance & Importance of Sardar Patel in today's India” and the theme of slogan writing competition was “Unity”.
Students from all departments of the university participated in the event. The event attracted overwhelming response from all sections of the university. Students of University’s Centre for Mass Communication and Media Gaurav Ranjan and Saumil Sahay secured first and second positions respectively in the elocution competition. In the slogan writing competition Rakshan Ahmad of Centre for Environmental Sciences and Sakshi of Centre for Mass Communication and Media secured first and second positions. The event was judged by Dr. Ram Kumar and Dr. Atish Prashar, one of the senior faculties of the university.
Similarly, in Gaya campus the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was celebrated as National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas). The University organized various functions like ‘Run for Unity’, essay and quiz competition on the role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in national integration. The Pro Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Om Prkash Rai motivated the students, faculties, deans and non-teaching staffs for having a strong will and determination, which were the forte of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The National Unity pledge was administrated by Dr. Kaushal Kishore, Proctor of the university which was followed by ‘ Run for Unity’ in which the Pro Vice Chancellor, Deans of various schools, heads of various centres, teaching, non-teaching and students of the university participated.
An essay and Quiz competition was organized on the role of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in national integration. The CUSB also organized a panel discussion on the works of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel wherein the university teachers and students actively participated. The panel discussion was led by Dr. Alok Kumar Gupta and Mr. Shanti Bhushan. After that there was a prize distribution for essay and quiz competition which was distributed by Dean of Students Welfare (DSW) Dr Sanat Kumar Sharma. Mr. APA Kabeer and Dr Rikil Chyrmang coordinated the entire programme.
