CUSB takes pledge for World Peace in "Deep Utsav"
Taking a unique type of initiative for spreading the message for World Peace, Prosperity and Humanity the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) organised the “Deep Utsav” (Lamp Festival) at its Patna and Gaya campuses on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. The students of the University voluntarily organised the special event in the evening hours after the sunset. Keeping in mind the concept of eco-friendly environment the students, faculty members, officers and staff lightened the earthen lamps under the “Peepal Tree”. Post lightening the lamps, the gathering took the pledge which reads as “we take the pledge for advocating World Peace and Humanity with our soul and mind, and would devote our lives for the fulfilment of same.”
Deep Utsav was organised under the supervision of Registrar Dr. Gayathri Vishwanath Patil in Patna, while in Gaya the event was co-ordinated by Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW) Dr. Sanat Kumar Sharma. In Gaya campus the programme was formally inaugurated by Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Om Prakash Rai in presence of DSW, Proctor Dr. Kaushal Kishore, Prof. Prabhat Kumar Singh, Dean School of Languages and Literature, Prof. Sanjay Prakash Shrivastava, Dean School of Law & Governance, faculty members, staff and students. On this occasion the Pro VC said that the light of lamp would eradicate the darkness from our lives with spread the light of education in the society and nation.
