School of Law & Governance of CUSB organises Human Rights Awareness Programme
The School of Law and Governance of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) organised one Day Training Programme on “Human Right Awareness” on 24th March, 2017 at Gaya campus. The programme was sponsored by National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi. Prof. S.P Srivastava, Head and Dean, School of Law and Governance introduced concept of human rights and its need and proposed welcome address in its inauguration. In inaugural session, Chief Guest, Mr. K.G. Anand, National Convener, Lok Samiti said that freedom of speech and expression is a must to have a healthy democratic process in the country. He also made students aware of women rights.
Guest of Honour, Mr. Karu, Convener, Bhumi Mukti Andolan said that human rights are available to all individuals by birth and focused on rights of under trial prisoners. Prof. O.P. Rai, Pro-VC, Central University of South Bihar focused on limitation of human rights and said that limits of any rights must also be understood in its complete sense. Prof. P.K. Singh, Head and Dean, School of Foreign Languages also presided over the programme. Dr. P.K. Mishra proposed vote of thanks. In the various technical sessions of the programme Dr. Alok Kr. Gupta, Dr. Pranav Kumar, Mrs. Poonam Kumari, Mr. P.K. Madhu, Adv. Anshu Raj Singh and Fr. Philip Manthra delivered lectures on specific issues and made students aware of those issues in detail. A total of 125 students of the university participated in the one-day training programme.
