CUSB celebrates 71st Independence Day with pomp and gaiety
The traits of casteism, communalism and other related social evils dividing the people of country must be abolished in order to make a New and Prosperous India, said Prof. Harish Chandra Singh Rathore, Vice-Chancellor of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) during his Independence Day address. The freedom fighters who have sacrificed their lives for the country dreamed of a prosperous India, but does it became possible? It is a big question and perhaps the dream is yet to be fulfilled, said Prof. Rathore. In fact, the proper growth and development of country is badly jolted by the evils of casteism, communalism, etc. We need to abolish these damaging traits from the society to make a developing and prosperous New India. The Vice-Chancellor urged from the teachers, students and staff to make a discrimination free society where all can live together with love, affection and care of eath other. Prof. Rathore expressed his hopes for fulfilment of dream of making a New India with the youths present at the venue. Further, the VC shared the details about the academic and infrastructure development of the University since he assumed the office two years ago on 5th August 2015. I wish that in coming years, the University achieve a reputed place among the educational institutions of the region and country, with its academic excellence and all round development.
Earlier the Independence Day celebration at Gaya started with hoisting of national flag by CUSB Vice-Chancellor followed by the national anthem. Similarly, at Patna campus the tricolour was unfurled by Professor-In-Charge Prof. Arun Kumar Sinha followed by his speech. The students of University at Patna and Gaya campus under the guidance of Cultural Activities Committee presented mesmerising programmes imbibed with patriotic feeling. Dance, songs, skits, poem recitation, etc. were highlights of the Independence Day celebration at CUSB. Some of the highlights of the cultural programmes were song ‘Sandeshe Aate Hain’ by Ausaf & group, poem recitation by Poem by Vikash Kumar, Aayush Anand, Siddharth Kumar, solo songs by Kumari Subhangi, Subhojit Kumar, Pratika Kumari, Shikha and Prince Kumar, solo dance by Annu Kumari, Roma, Anjali, group dany by Isha and Mansi, skits by Smriti & group, Sakshi & group, speeches in English and Hindi by Apurva Shri and Namarta Kumari respectively. The Independence Day celebration ended with vote of thanks.
Professor Arun Kumar Sinha (Professor Incharge, Patna Campus) hoisted the flag and addressed the audience on this auspicious occasion. National anthem was conducted by the students of different departments of the university. Students of the University have also organized several cultural programmes such as poem recitation, skits, songs, dances etc. the programmes organized were based on different themes of national and social importance such as importance of rural India in nation development, importance of girl child etc. Along with the students, several professors and staffs of the university including Albinus Topno (LDC, CUSB) and Md. Mudassir Alam (PRO, CUSB) had also sung patriotic songs. Dr.Ram Kumar (Associate Professor, EVS.) delivered speech to the audience. The cultural programme ended with Vande Mataram sung by the students. Dr Anindya Deb (assistant professor, MACMS) gave the vote of thanks. Arrangement of refreshments was also made for all during the celebration.
