Tree Plantation on the occasion of World Earth Day at CUSB, April 22, 2026
To mark the observance of World Earth Day, the Department of Geology at CUSB organized a tree plantation drive within the university campus. Led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. N. Singh, the morning of World Earth Day commenced with a tree plantation activity within the residential complex premises of CUSB. Dedicated to environmental conservation, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, officials, staff, and students from various departments. In his address, Prof. K. N. Singh appealed to everyone present at the venue to promote energy conservation and utilize renewable resources in order to save the earth. He emphasized that we must plant as many trees as possible to ensure the safety and preservation of our environment an
d our planet. Furthermore, he urged that alongside planting trees, we should each adopt at least one tree and take full responsibility for its care, including watering and providing fertilizer. On the occasion of Earth Day, the Dept. of Geology also organized a painting competition in which participating students beautifully showcased their creativity. Prof. Prafull Kumar Singh, Head, Geology mentioned that the winner of the poster-making competition held on the theme 'Our Power, Our Planet' would receive a cash prize of ₹3,000. The participant securing the second position will receive ₹2,000, while the third-place winner will be awarded ₹1,000. Dr. Milankumar Sharma, Dr. Vikal Kumar Singh, Dr. Dhirendra Kumar, and other faculty members of the department played a pivotal role in organizing this event.
