Vision and Mission

To develop a citizen who are sensible and responsible to the environment and shall incorporate the values of environmental conservation and protection in their major to minor decision makings.
To inculcate innovative skills, creativity and compassion towards protecting and improving the environment.
Innovative teaching, and high quality research for postgraduate and doctoral programs through inter-disciplinary subjects.

To evolve as an institution in providing knowledge and skills to students and assist them in such placements that they can engage themselves in suitable capacities to analyse and solve environmental problems.
To quest solution based research into environmental processes, optimum utilization of natural resources, environmental pollution and restoration of the degraded environment.
To develop the department as an interface between indigenous knowledge and modern science for environmental protection and conservation.
To strengthen the department as a facilitator to provide solution to end users in mitigating different scales (local, national, regional and global environmental issues).
