5 Years Integrated UG-PG in Sociology
Objectives of the Program:
The 5 year (ten semesters) Under Graduate Programmes (5 Years integrated UG-PG in Sociology) are designed to equip the students with knowledge and skill in the fields of Sociology and Social Work.
Program Outcomes:
The Course focuses on improving human capitals for proficient and operative specialized social work practices, which includes teaching and research with diverse range of individuals, groups and communities by using a framework of social justice and human rights as well as sustainable and participatory development.
Eligibility: 10 + 2 or equivalent examination in any stream from any recognized Board/ University with at least 45% marks for General /OBC/EWS and 40% marks for SC / ST / PWD candidate.

M.A. in Social Work
Objectives of the Program:
The two year (four semesters) Post Graduate Programmes (M.A. in Sociology and MA in Social Work) are designed to equip the students with knowledge and skill in the fields of Sociology and Social Work. The courses have been developed consistent with the rapid transformations the world is undergoing; it is imperative that these changes and development should be understood by a theoretical grasp of phenomena and by studying them with some methodological maturity.
Program Outcomes:
The Course focuses on improving human capitals for proficient and operative specialized social work practices, which includes teaching and research with diverse range of individuals, groups and communities by using a framework of social justice and human rights as well as sustainable and participatory development. It will help in developing qualified professionals to work in the field of development and welfare. At a more pragmatic level, they will be trained in mobilizing resources, managing development/welfare organizations, undertaking social action and advocacy initiatives, engaging in research/policy studies and policy formulation. This will create job opportunities in government and civil society structure, professional institutions and industry, U.N. Organizations, both at national and international levels.
Eligibility: The eligibility requirement for M.A. in Social Work/Sociology shall be Bachelor’s Degree in any stream (Arts, Science and Commerce) from any recognized University.

M.A. in Sociology
Objectives of the Program:

The Department focuses on providing conducive academic environment to students for the understanding of contemporary social phenomena sandwiched between classical sociological thought and traditional Vedic Philosophy. This Course also targets for recognizing globally by acting locally through generating applicable knowledge in the field. This will help increase understanding about society, its problems and needs which will provide foundation for further research in diverse areas.
Eligibility: The eligibility requirement for M.A. in Social Work/Sociology shall be Bachelor’s Degree in any stream (Arts, Science and Commerce) from any recognized University. .

Objectives of the Program:
- To equip the students with latest sociological knowledge pertaining to various sub-fields within the discipline of sociology.
- To orient the students for comprehending, analysing and critically assessing the social reality from sociological perspective.
- To inculcate the analytical ability, research aptitude and relevant skills in the students useful for their social and professional life
- To prepare the students for undertaking research, jobs in Colleges / Universities / Research Institutions, various Government Departments and Non-governmental organizations as well as for various competitive examinations.
