D. Pharm (PCI Approved)

Objectives of the Program:

The course objectives describe the key topics that are intended by the teacher to be covered in the course. In general, these are more specific than the scope and broader than the course outcomes. The teacher is expected to discuss the objectives of the course with the students and break-down the course objectives into micro levels as objectives of a specific topic / objectives of a specific lecture, etc. Such an exercise shall make the students to understand the significance of the course / topic / lecture and enhance their attention on the course / topic / lecture. 

Program Outcomes:

The course outcomes are more specific than the course objectives describe that describe the abilities of the students to perform/act, upon successful completion of the course. Hence, conventionally the course outcomes are described with verbs that are measurable or observable actions. The teacher is expected to describe the desired outcomes of the particular course, so that the students shall understand the various assessment criteria, modalities, and parameters. This also serves as a broader guideline for the teachers for preparing the assessment plan. A well-structured assessment plan associated with the course outcomes shall enable to mapping with the professional competencies and their attainment levels that are attributed to the program outcomes. 

Eligibility: The admission to the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) Programme shall be governed by the provisions as laid down by the UATEC/Academic Council of the university from time to time. The admission to the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) Programme shall be through CUET (UG) Score only.

M. Pharm

Objectives of the Program:

  • To impart basic knowledge, training and skill to Pharmacy graduates along with latest technologies and developments of pharmaceutical sciences.
  • To promote interdisciplinary and collaborative research aptitude to yield meaningful products and services to benefit society and the Nation.
  • To foster the values of entrepreneurship and leadership with sense of social responsibilities in the students.
  • To make students competent and resilient to face the challenges of corporate and academic fields and excel in their ventures.
  • To nurture and evolve ethical values in students to make them noble human being.

Program Outcomes:

The M Pharm course at Department of Pharmacy, School of Health Science is designed to meet the requirements of skilled and knowledgeable human resources for Pharmaceutical industries, academic and research institutions engaged in drug development and manufacturing. Currently, Department of Pharmacy is offering Master Degrees in Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology branches. In M. Pharm, Pharmaceutics, students are rigorously trained for different techniques and instruments being used in formulation research and development and manufacturing. Students are adequately exposed and made acquainted with different domains of Pharmaceutical industries through diverse and rich academic programmes. In M. Pharm, Pharmacology students are given training on pharmacological and toxicological evaluation of drugs and chemicals, a key step in new drug development. The knowledge and skills gained after completing this course makes individual students capable of handling preclinical and clinical operations and applied research in the field of medicine. The Pharmacology division of Department of Pharmacy has adopted the cancer, aging and metabolic disorders as a thrust area of the research and students of M. Pharm are trained in these areas to handle different instruments and animal models to conduct research study and identify lead molecules as therapeutic leads. The Department of Pharmacy has also established collaborations with premier medical colleges of India including AIIMS, Bathinda and IGIMS Patna to conduct collaborative research in the field of medicine.

Apart from regular academic activities, here at Department of Pharmacy we strive to nurture entrepreneurial and leadership capabilities in our students to excel in corporate and academic life.

It is expected that students trained at the Department of Pharmacy in a disciplined and motivating environment, will be able to get leading positions in Pharmaceutical industries and research institutions by virtue of their skill and knowledge. It is also expected that students will develop their own enterprises and generate employment for others as well.

Eligibility: B.Pharm Degree examination of an Indian University established by law in India from an institution approved by Pharmacy Council of India and has scored not less than 55 % of the maximum marks (aggregate of 4 years of B. Pharm.).

Doctor of Philosophy

Objectives of the Program:

  • To develop critical thinking and problem solving aptitude in the research scholar.
  • To encourage research scholar to identify the new set of problems being faced by the society in the field of healthcare and to explore the viable solution of the same through research work.
  • To provide hands on training on the advance instruments of the concerned specialization to plan and execute their research work.
  • To promote genuine and ethical research practices in the research scholar.

Program Outcomes:

  • Advance research work in Pharmaceutical science reflected by quality publications and patents.
  • Highly skilled and competent researchers ready to cater the demands of industries and academia to pursue research.

Eligibility

Candidates possessing a M. Pharm./M.S. (Pharmacy) or Equivalent Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from an Indian Institution or from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. program, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade.
