M.Com

Objectives of the Program:

The M. Com. Degree Programme has a distinct objective to equip the students with knowledge, skills and attitude to become more suitable for the present as well as emerging job markets. The design of the syllabus is student-centred where there is flexibility for the students to have a greater choice of courses appropriate to their interests, needs and sustainability. The courses are offered with Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) thus facilitating the students to have 100 Credits spread over 4 semesters for mastering the subject for the award of Master Degree in Commerce. The students can opt for elective courses of his/her choice and based on his/her aptitude from four elective groups of courses. Another important aspect of the M. Com Degree Programme is that it gives students an opportunity to study and opt for the inter-disciplinary courses other than the Commerce domain with minimum of 08 Credits which can go up to 16 Credits in the form of Elective courses in order to leverage the competitive advantage of the M. Com. students

Eligibility:

Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from any recognized University with a minimum 50% marks for General / OBC candidates and 45% marks for SC /ST candidates”. However, the eligibility conditions for admission into M.Com. Programme and intake of the Programme shall be decided by the University Admission, Teaching and Evaluation Committee (UATEC) from time to time.

Doctor of Philosophy

Objectives of the Program:

To impart training to the young research scholar t o instill in them the collaborative research and innovation in the field of business studies with emphasis of applied research and contemporary and frontier research in the same field.

Program Outcomes:

To contribute towards research, innovation, patents and quality publication and all these will have impact on improvised business processes and outcome across the globe.

Eligibility:

  • A candidate who has passed the qualifying examination with requisite percentage of marks as prescribed in Clause IV of these Ordinances is eligible for admission to the Ph. D. Programme through one of the following modes: a) Admission through Entrance Test: (i) A candidate qualified in Entrance Test as per the details given in Clause VIII.1 (a) shall be considered for admission to the Ph. D. Programme depending on the number of seats available in a Department/ Centre/ School. (ii) The prospective number of seats available in Departments/Centres shall be as notified in advertisement. The number of candidates to be called for counseling will depend upon the number of seats in the Department/Centre.
  • Direct Admission: A candidate who fulfills one of the following requirements may be considered for direct admission to the Ph. D. Programme without appearing in the Entrance Test: i) A candidate who is qualified in a national level test such as National Eligibility Test (NET-JRF), NET-LS (without fellowship), Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE), State Level Eligibility Test (SLET) accredited by UGC/Central or State Government. Note: However, a research scholar earlier admitted under Entrance Test - exempted category (NET-LS/GATE) could be extended CUSB research fellowship, subject to fulfillment of following conditions, without any break in continuity of his/her research work done as an Entrance Test exempted enrollee: 1) He/she is not getting any financial support/ fellowship from any other source; 2) He/she publishes at least one research paper in peer refereed journals after his/her enrollment as Ph.D. scholar in the University (out of the research work generated as a Ph.D. scholar); OR He/ she is short-listed in the Entrance Test conducted by the University
