• Multilingual Discourse on the Contribution of Agriculture to VIKSIT BHARAT @ 2047

In a landmark gathering, 50 students pursuing BSc Agriculture converged to engage in a profound discussion on the theme, "Contribution of Agriculture in the Conceptualization and Implementation of VIKSIT BHARAT @ 2047." This meeting, held at the Department of Agriculture, School of Agriculture and Development, was characterized by its multilingual nature, embracing discussions in Hindi, English, and Bengali languages. Distinguished faculty members, including Prof. Ram Ashish Yadav, Head of the Department of Agriculture, Prof. Prabhat Kumar Singh, Dr. Pranav Tripathi, and Dr. Hemant Kumar Singh, actively engaged in the discussions. Prof. Prabhat Kumar Singh provided historical context to VIKSIT BHARAT @ 2047, emphasizing the interconnectedness between agricultural advancements and national development. The faculty's presence underscored the department's commitment to fostering an environment where students and faculty collaboratively explore critical issues related to agriculture. The meeting concluded with Prof. Ram Ashish Yadav summarizing the key takeaways from the multilingual discussions. दक्षिण बिहार केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय गया के कृषि विभाग के कृषि प्रक्षेत्र पर बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के अवसर पर माननीय कुलपति प्रो कामेश्वर नाथ सिंह जी के नेतृत्व में वृक्षारोपण का कार्यक्रम संपन्न किया गया। इस कार्यक्रम में कुलपति जी द्वारा इस पावन पर्व पर गोवंशों को शीतल छाया प्रदान करने हेतु पीपल ,नीम एवं जामुन के वृक्षों का रोपण किया गया तथा कृषि विभाग के स्नातक छात्रों एवं छात्राओं ने नीम, पीपल, एवं जामुन के वृक्षों का रोपण करते हुए शपथ भी ली कि जब तक वे विश्वविद्यालय में रहेंगे, इन वृक्षों की देख-रेख करते रहेंगे। विश्वविद्यालय के विशेष कार्यकारी अधिकारी प्रो आर के सिंह, कृषि विभाग के प्रो राम आशीष यादव, प्रो प्रभात कुमार सिंह, डॉ प्रणव त्रिपाठी, श्री मनोज कुमार सिंह, तथा अर्थशास्त्र विभाग के प्रो रथिकांत कुम्भार ने भी वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम में अपनी सहभागिता प्रस्तुत की तथा कार्यक्रम को सुचारु रूप से संपन्न कराया। वृक्षारोपणोपरांत माननीय कुलपति जी द्वारा समस्त संकाय सदस्यों एवं छात्र छात्राओं के सम्मुख वृक्षारोपण के महत्व पर चर्चा की। वृक्षारोपण और प्राकृतिक संतुलन के महत्त्व पर चर्चा के साथ, वृक्षों में पीपल के महत्त्व का विस्तार भी किया। माननीय कुलपति जी ने यह भी कहा की प्रत्येक मनुष्य को जीवन में कम से कम एक वृक्ष का रोपण एवं आजीवन उनकी सुरक्षा अवश्य करनी चाहिए। तदोपरांत, डॉ प्रणव त्रिपाठी ने धन्यवाद ज्ञापन प्रस्तुत करते हुए समस्त प्रस्तुत एवं अप्रस्तुत व्यक्तियों के प्रति आभार व्यक्त किया।

विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस के सुअवसर पर माननीय कुलपति प्रो. के. एन. सिंह के नेतृत्व में आज गया के दक्षिण बिहार केन्द्रीय विश्वविद्यालय के कृषि विभाग के कृषि प्रक्षेत्र में वृक्षारोपण का कार्यक्रम आयोजित किया गया। इस अवसर पर माननीय कुलपति महोदय ने पर्यावरण संरक्षण हेतु वृक्षारोपण करने के पश्चात इसके बृहद योगदान पर प्रकाश डाला एवं संसथान के छात्र- छात्राओं को रोपित वृक्षों के उत्तरदायित्व की शपथ दिलाते हुए, उन्हें अपने शैक्षिणिक कार्यक्रम के पूर्ण होने तक इस उत्तरदायित्व का विधिवत निर्वहन करने की प्रेरणा दी। वृक्षारोपणोपरान्त, माननीय कुलपति जी ने वैश्विक ताप-प्रभाव, पर्यावरण प्रदुषण, मृदा अपर्दन एवं जलवायु परिवर्तन पर वृक्षारोपण के स्पष्ट प्रभाव पर विधिपूर्वक चर्चा की। इस चर्चा के अंतर्गत माननीय कुलपति महोदय ने सभी उपस्थितजनों को जीवन में कम से कम एक वृक्ष के रोपण एवं उनकी देखभाल करने के लक्ष्य को लक्षित करने का संकल्प दिया। इस कार्यक्रम में, प्रो. बन्दना झा - जवाहर लाल नेहरू विश्वविद्यालय, प्रो. रामेन्द्र कुमार सिंह - इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय, प्रो. सुषमा पाण्डेय-दीन दयाल उपाध्याय गोरखपुर विश्वविद्यालय, दक्षिण बिहार केन्द्रीय विश्वविद्यालय से प्रो अमिया प्रियम -रसायन विज्ञान विभाग, प्रो एम् विजय कुमार- समाजशास्त्र विभाग, कुलसचिव-कर्नल राजीव कुमार सिंह, वित्त पदाधिकारी - सुश्री रश्मि त्रिपाठी, परीक्षा नियंत्रक - डॉ शांतिगोपाल पाइन, डॉ मंगलेश कुमार मंगलम-साइकोलॉजी विभाग, सुश्री रेणु- कॉमर्स विभाग, उपकुलसचिव- श्री कुमार कौशल, डॉ प्रज्ञा गुप्ता -शिक्षा विभाग एवं डॉ तरुण त्यागी-शिक्षा विभाग उपस्थित रहे। कार्यक्रम का समन्वयन कृषि विभाग के संकाय सदस्यों, प्रो राम आशीष यादव - विभागाध्यक्ष, डॉ हेमंत कुमार सिंह, डॉ प्रणव त्रिपाठी एवं श्री मनोज कुमार सिंह ने किया।

Hon’ble Vice Chancellor gave his opening remarks importance of agriculture education for the economic development of rural India and he gave his views on the on his vision for the development of different programs and courses in agriculture, animal husbandry and allied disciplines, and development of the research and teaching farms on the campus while ensuring rain water harvesting and conservation of the natural wetlands. He also stressed on the outreach and extension activities to connect with farmers, transfer the suitable region specific technologies, connect with line departments and other stakeholders. He said that we should design courses which include not only production but also cover the processing and marketing aspects and pursue research in crop diversification, climate resilient agriculture, protected and precision agriculture leading to development of technologies and package of practices to help farmers in the semi arid kind of conditions in South Bihar. There was in-depth discussion in different sessions including on site discussions at the university farms and water bodies.

आज दिनांक 17.09.2024 को माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी जी के द्वारा चलाये गये पर्यावरण संरक्षण एवं इनके दायित्वों को ध्यान में रखकर, एक जागरूकता अभियान एक पेड़ माँ के नाम को दक्षिण बिहार केंद्रीय विश्वविद्यालय के माननीय कुलपति प्रोफेसर कामेश्वर नाथ सिंह जी के मार्गदर्शन एवं अध्यक्षता में आयोजित किया गया I जिसमें कृषि संकाय के संकाय सदस्य, कर्मचारी एवं छात्र छात्राओं ने एक पेड़ माँ के नाम पर अपने अपने विचार हिंदी-अंग्रेजी भाषण, कविता, निबंध एवं शेरो- शायरी भरे संबोधन में व्यक्त करते हुये पर्यावरण संरक्षण एवं जैव विविधता पर पर्यावरण एवं जलवायु के प्रभाव तथा वैश्विक प्रभाव पर जागरूकता कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत किये I कार्यक्रम का संचालन डॉ हेमन्त कुमार सिंह के माध्यम से किया गया जिसमें पूर्ण अवसर छात्र एवं छात्रों को मिला और इस कार्यक्रम में छात्र छात्राओं ने बढ़ चढ़ हिस्सा लिया और अपनी-अपनी प्रतिभानुसार विचार साझा किये! कार्यक्रम में कृषि संकाय के विभागाध्यक्ष एवं अधिष्ठाता प्रो. राम आशीष यादव ने एक पेड़ की उपयोगिता एवं जरूरत पर व्याख्यान प्रस्तुत किया, कृषि संकाय सदस्यों में प्रो. प्रभात कुमार सिंह, डॉ प्रणव त्रिपाठी एवं अन्य ने भी जागरूकता व्याख्यान प्रस्तुत किया कार्यक्रम में तकनीकी सहायता के दायित्वों का निर्वहन कृषि संकाय के प्रयोगशाला सहायक श्री मनोज कुमार सिंह ने किया I

इस कार्यक्रम के तत्पश्चात कृषि प्रक्षेत्र पर वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम का आयोजन हुआ जिस कार्यक्रम में विश्वविद्यालय के माननीय कुलपति प्रो. कामेश्वर नाथ सिंह जी एवं कुलसचिव प्रो. नरेंद्र कुमार राणा ने एक पेड़ माँ के नाम का लगाया तथा वृक्ष एवं इनकी उपयोगिता, पर्यावरण एवं जलवायु परिवर्तन तथा वैश्विक प्रभाव पर प्रेरणादायक दायक एवं जागरुकता व्याख्यान प्रस्तुत किये इस कार्यक्रम में उपस्थित अन्य सदस्यों ने भी पौध रोपण कर कार्यक्रम में मुख्य भूमिका निभाई वृक्षारोपण कार्यक्रम मेंअधिष्ठाता छात्र कल्याण प्रो. पवन कुमार मिश्रा, प्रो. रति कांत कुम्हार,डॉ. मंगलेश कुमार मंगलम, प्रो. विवेक दवे, सह प्राध्यापक डॉ. अबोध कुमार, लाइब्रेरियन डॉ प्रमोद कुमार सिंह,डॉ. रेणू, डॉ रचना विश्वकर्मा, सहायक कुलसचिव शशि रंजन, कृषि संकाय सदस्य, कर्मचारी, स्नातक प्रथम एवं द्वितीय के छात्र - छात्रा एवं विश्वविद्यालय के अन्य कर्मचारी गण उपस्थित रहें I

माननीय कुलपति प्रो. कामेश्वर नाथ सिंह जी की अध्यक्षता में विश्वविद्यालय के कृषि विभाग की दुग्धशाला इकाई में कृषि स्नातक पाठ्यक्रम के अनुरूप, अध्ययन- अध्यापन, शोध और व्यावहारिक प्रशिक्षण तथा पशु नस्लों के सुधार पर ध्यान केन्द्रित करते हुये, साहिवाल नस्ल की गायों को लाया गया। उक्त उद्देश्य की पूर्ति हेतु, राष्ट्रीय डेयरी विकास बोर्ड से 7 गायें और 1 बछिया लाई गई। माननीय कुलपति जी ने गौ-माता की पूजा, तिलक, आरती एवं नैवेद्य अर्पण करने के पश्चात, गौ-माता के सामने सर झुका कर आशीष प्राप्त किया एवं उन्हें सहला कर प्रेम की अनुभूति की। कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता कृषि एवं विकास पीठ के अधिष्ठाता प्रो. राम आशीष यादव ने की, कार्यक्रम का संचालन पशुपालन इकाई के प्रभारी प्रो. प्रभात कुमार सिंह ने किया एवं कार्यक्रम क्रियान्वयन मे कृषि विभाग के सहायक प्राध्यापक डॉ हेमन्त कुमार सिंह एवं डॉ प्रणव त्रिपाठी ने मुख्य भूमिका निभाई तथा कृषि विभाग के प्रयोगशाला सहायक श्री मनोज कुमार सिंह ने तकनीक एवं प्रबंधन देख-रेख जिम्मेदारी निभाई। गोपुजन संस्कार कार्यक्रम में विश्वविद्यालय की वित्त पदाधिकारी श्रीमती रश्मि त्रिपाठी, अधिष्ठाता छात्र कल्याण प्रो. पवन कुमार मिश्रा, अर्थशास्त्र विभाग के प्राध्यापक प्रो. रथिकांत कुंभार, विधि एवं शासन विभाग एवं गेस्ट हाउस प्रभारी डॉ सुरेंद्र कुमार, पुस्तकालयाध्यक्ष डॉ. प्रमोद कुमार सिंह, उप-पुस्तकालयाध्यक्ष डॉ पंकज कुमार माथुर, शारीरिक शिक्षा विभाग के सहायक निदेशक डॉ. जितेंद्र प्रताप सिंह, सहायक कुलसचिव श्री शशि रंजन, कनिष्ठ अभियंता श्री शत्रुजीत जी एवं श्री अतुल कुमार सिंह एवं कृषि विभाग के छात्र एवं छात्राएं आदि कार्यक्रम में उपस्थित रहें।

• Agriculture Students Gain Practical Insights During Visit to Gaya Dairy (SUDHA) Gaya,

Students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture visited the renowned Gaya Dairy, operated under the SUDHA brand, as part of an academic initiative aimed at providing hands-on exposure to modern dairy operations. The visit was facilitated under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh, as a vital platform for integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application. Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh, in his message, highlighted the university's commitment to creating practical learning opportunities for students and encouraged them to apply these experiences to drive innovation in their respective fields. During the visit, students explored multiple state-of-the-art facilities, including the Paneer Processing Center, where they learned about the step-by-step process of paneer production, quality control measures, and packaging techniques. They also visited the Milk Silos, gaining an understanding of large-scale milk storage, and the Milk Packing Center, where they observed advanced machinery in action. The Cold Rooms offered insights into the importance of temperature management in preserving dairy products, while the Effluent Treatment Plant demonstrated the sustainable practices adopted by the dairy to minimize environmental impact. A team of experts from SUDHA provided detailed explanations, shared insights on the latest advancements in the dairy industry, and addressed the students' queries. The interactive sessions helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world practices. The students were acccompanied by Prof. Ram Ashish Yadav, Prof. Prabhat Kumar Singh, and Dr. Pranav Tripathi, they emphasized on the importance of such field visits in fostering a deeper understanding of agricultural and allied industries. The students found the visit highly enriching, gaining valuable insights into sustainable practices, advanced technologies, and the operational dynamics of the dairy industry. • Expert lecture on ‘Animal Management and Breeding’ in Dept. of Agriculture

An insightful expert lecture on Animal Management and Breeding was conducted, focusing on advanced livestock production techniques and effective herd management. The speaker, a renowned expert in the field, emphasized a paradigm shift in livestock practices to achieve long-term sustainability and productivity. The lecture highlighted the critical role of genetic stability in cattle as the foundation for improving overall livestock performance. The expert underscored that while milk is a valuable by-product, the primary focus should lie in enhancing the genetic potential and health of the herd. He detailed strategies for selective breeding, incorporating advanced reproductive technologies, and maintaining genetic diversity to prevent inbreeding. Efficient livestock production techniques, including optimized feed management, housing, and health monitoring, were also discussed. The expert shared practical insights into implementing herd management practices that prioritize the welfare of animals while boosting economic viability for farmers.The session concluded with a call to action for integrating science-based breeding programs with traditional knowledge.
