Second Convocation, 27th March, 2018
The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) awarded degrees to the passed out students during the 2nd Convocation of the University held at the auditorium of Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) in Patna. Padma Bhushan Dr. Vijay P. Bhatkar, the renowned Scientist in the area of Information and Computer technology who developed the Param Super Computer graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr. Bhatkar congratulated the CUSB fraternity for scaling the new heights in the short span of nine years since its establishment in 2009. The chief guest specifically mentioned about the contributions of founder Vice-Chancellor Prof. Janak Pandey for shaping up the academia of a new institution. Earlier, CUSB VC Prof. H.C.S. Rathore presented the Annual Report of the University and highlighted the goals and achievements. A total of 675 students passed out in the Academic Year 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, were given their degrees during the Convocation ceremony. A total of 90 Gold medals were given to toppers which included Chancellor Gold Medal (5), School Gold Medal (25) and Department / Centre Gold Medal (60). Sucheta Sharma (MSc Mathematics), Rohit Kumar (Integrated BSc+BEd), Puja Kumari (MSc Computer Science), Fauzia Parween (MSc Life Science) and Premlata Kumari (MSc Biotechnology) got the ‘Chancellor Gold Medal’. Many dignitaries like Nalanda University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sunaina Singh, National Institute of Technology-Patna director Prof. P. K. Jain, Mahatma Gandhi Central University (Motihari) VC Prof. Arvind Agarwal, CUSB Founder VC Prof. Janak Pandey, pro-VC Prof. Om Prakash Rai, Registrar Dr. Gayathri Vishwanath Patil and Controller of Examinations Mrs. Rashmi Tripathi attended the programme.
