Brainstorming session, 28th & 29th, April 2023

The Department of Computer Science at the Central University of South Bihar held a brainstorming session and meeting with external AI experts on April 28th and 29th, 2023, to discuss the M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence program’s course structure as per NEP-2020. The programme was done under the guidance and leadership of the Honourable Vice Chancellor. The session was led by Dr. Prabhat Ranjan, the Head of the Department.

External experts included prominent professors from JNU, NIT Kurukshetra, NIT Patna, IIT Patna, and the Central University of Jharkhand. Internal members from the Computer Science Department and the Department of Mathematics also participated.

During the session, experts interacted with students, discussing the significance of AI, machine learning, and the potential of AI to revolutionize various fields. The experts provided real-life examples and addressed misconceptions about AI.

The Board of Studies (BOS) meeting concluded with recommendations for new courses such as Human-Computer Interaction, Time Series Analysis & Forecasting, Cyber Security, Data Visualization, Python Programming & AI Lab, Mathematical Foundation for AI, and Big Data. Non-credit courses in IPR, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Soft Skills were also suggested.

As a result, the Department drafted a new course framework for the M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence based on these recommendations.
