Republic Day Celebration at CUSB 

#Cyber security course will be started from the next academic session, CUSB VC Prof. K. N. Singh

Cyber fraud and digital arrest are a big problem for the country. From villages to cities, every section of the society, from the less educated to the high-ranking ones, is suffering from the problems of cyber fraud and digital arrest. While people are suffering financial loss due to this, they also have to deal with mental stress. Senior officials of Bihar state have requested the university to start a cyber security course to solve this problem. With the aim of making our Campus for Community campaign stronger, we have resolved that a new course in Cyber Security will be started by the Computer Science Department of the university from the upcoming academic session. The above statement was given by the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) Vice Chancellor of Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh in his Republic Day address.

The Vice Chancellor said that in the past years, the university has started many new courses as per the standards of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 while moving towards its goal of 'academic excellence'. In the last academic session, integrated UG-PG courses were started in 13 subjects, and in the upcoming academic session, UG-PG studies are going to start in more subjects like Computer Science, Life Science, Geology, Media in Mass Communication etc. At the same time, from the upcoming session, two new departments, Department of Performing Arts and Music Science and Department of Library and Information Science, are going to be started, in which B.Lib and MLib courses will be taught. Vice Chancellor Prof. Singh said that in view of achieving Category-1 from UGC and the seriousness and hard work of teachers and students towards research, various institutions have received a grant of Rs 11,64,12,440 (eleven crore sixty four lakh, twelve thousand, four hundred and forty) for research, which is a record for Bihar in itself. At the same time, the university If we look at the number of enrolment, the number of students was 3154 in 2023-24, which has become around 3600 in the current academic session 2024 - 25 and if we continue at this pace, then this number will reach 5000 in the next two years which will be a big achievement. The Vice Chancellor expressed hope that CUSB has set a benchmark in comparison to the Central Universities established in 2009 and I have unwavering faith that in the coming years this university will be able to make its place among the leading institutions of the country. Talking about the infrastructure, Vice Chancellor Prof. Singh said that the construction work of Rajarashi Janak Central Library, Animal House in the university has been completed and the construction work of many new buildings is going on at a fast pace. Under Khelo India, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has given a grant of 9.50 crores for the construction of a multipurpose hall near the Milkha Singh Sports Complex, in which students can play at any time in any weather. In his address at the 76th Republic Day celebrations, Prof. Singh said that the biggest achievement of independent India is our constitution where the citizens of the country have been given equal rights without any discrimination. We should contribute to nation building by following the constitution. Before this, the Vice Chancellor was given a guard of honour by NCC cadets and security personnel. After this, Vice Chancellor Prof. Singh hoisted the tricolour and then the national anthem was sung. Registrar Prof. Narendra Kumar Rana, Finance Officer Mrs. Rashmi Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare Prof. Pawan Kumar Mishra, Proctor Prof. Pranav Kumar along with Deans of various departments, Heads of Departments, Professors, Officers, Employees and Students were present in the Republic Day celebrations. The event was compered by Dr. Amrita Srivastava, faculty member from the Life Science Department of the University.

साइबर फ्रॉड एवं डिजिटल अरेस्ट की समस्याओं के मद्देनज़र, अगले अकादमिक सत्र से सीयूएसबी में साइबर  सिक्योरिटी  पाठ्यक्रम की होगी शुरुवात, कुलपति प्रो. कामेश्वर नाथ सिंह

देश के सामने साइबर फ्रॉड एवं डिजिटल अरेस्ट एक बहुत बड़ी समस्या है | गांव से लेकर शहर तक, कम पढ़े लिखे से बड़े पद पर कार्यरत समाज का हर वर्ग साइबर फ्रॉड एवं डिजिटल अरेस्ट की समस्यायों से ग्रसित है | जहाँ इसकी चपेट में आकर लोगों का आर्थिक नुकसान हो रहा है वहीं मानसिक तनाव से भी जूझना पड़ता है | बिहार प्रदेश के बड़े पदाधिकारी विश्वविद्यालय से इस समस्या से निदान के लिए साइबर  सिक्योरिटी  पाठ्यक्रम को प्रारंभ करने का आग्रह किया है | हमारे कैंपस फॉर कम्युनिटी मुहीम को और अधिक सबल बनाने के उद्देश्य से हमने यह संकल्प लिया है कि इसी अकादमिक सत्र से विश्वविद्यालय के कंप्यूटर साइंस विभाग द्वारा साइबर सिक्योरिटी का नया पाठ्यक्रम शुरू किया जाएगा | उक्त वक्तव्य दक्षिण बिहार केन्द्रीय विश्वविद्यालय (सीयूएसबी) के कुलपति प्रो  कामेश्वर नाथ सिंह ने विश्वविद्यालय परिसर में आयोजित गणतंत्र दिवस समारोह में अपने उद्बोधन में दिया | कुलपति महोदय ने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय ने गत वर्षों में 'शैक्षणिक उत्कृष्टता" के अपने लक्ष्य की तरफ बढ़ते हुए राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति (एनईपी) 2020 के मानकों के अनुसार कई नए पाठ्यक्रम शुरू किए हैं | पिछले अकादमिक सत्र में 13 विषयों में इंटीग्रेटेड यूजी - पीजी पाठ्यक्रम शुरू किए गए थे, और आगामी अकादमिक सत्र में कंप्यूटर साइंस, लाइफ साइंस, जियोलॉजी, मास कम्युनिकेशन में मीडिया आदि विषयों में यूजी - पीजी की पढ़ाई शुरू होने जा रही है | वहीं आगामी सत्र से दो नए डिपार्टमेंट क्रमशः डिपार्टमेंट ऑफ परफार्मिंग आर्ट्स एंड म्यूजिक साइंस तथा डिपार्टमेंट ऑफ लाइब्रेरी एंड इनफार्मेशन साइंस की शुरुआत होने जा रही है जिसमें बी.लिब और एमलिब की पाठ्यक्रम की पढाई होगी  | कुलपति प्रो सिंह ने कहा कि  यूजीसी से कैटेगरी - 1 की उपलब्धि प्राप्त होने एवं शिक्षकों एवं विद्यार्थियों के शोध के प्रति गंभीरता और परिश्रम को देखते हुए विभिन्न संस्थानों ने शोध के लिए 11,64,12,440 (ग्यारह करोड़ चौसंठ लाख, बारह हज़ार, चारसौचालीस) रुपये का ग्रांट (अनुदान) मिला है जो अपने आप में बिहार के लिए एक रिकॉर्ड है | वहीं विश्वविद्यालय की एनरोलमेंट की संख्या पर नज़र डालें तो छात्रों की संख्या 2023-24 में 3154 था, जो वर्तमान अकादमिक सत्र 2024 - 25 में करीब 3600 हो गया है और अगर हम इसी रफ़्तार से चलें तो अगले दो वर्षों में यह संख्या 5000 जो एक बड़ी उपलब्धि होगी | कुलपति महोदय ने आशा जताई कि 2009 में स्थापित केन्द्रीय विश्वविद्यालयों की तुलना में सीयूएसबी ने एक बेंचमार्क स्थापित किया है और मेरा अटूट विश्वास है कि आने वाले वर्षों में यह विश्वविद्यालय देश के अग्रणी संस्थानों में अपना स्थान बनाने में कामयाब हो जाएगा | इंफ्रास्ट्रचर की बात करते हुए कुलपति प्रो सिंह ने बताया कि विश्वविद्यालय में राजर्षि जनक केंद्रीय पुस्तकालय, एनिमल हाउस का निर्माण कार्य पूर्ण हो गया है एवं कई नए भवनों के निर्माण का कार्य तेज़ी से चल रहा है |  खेलो इण्डिया के तहत युवा एवं खेल मंत्रालय ने मिल्खा सिंह खेल परिसर के पास मल्टीपर्पस हॉल के निर्माण के लिए 9.50 करोड़ अनुदान दिया है जिसमें किसी भी समय किसी भी मौसम विद्यार्थी खेल सकते हैं | 76वें गणतंत्र दिवस समारोह में अपने संबोधन प्रो. सिंह ने कहा कि आज़ाद भारत की सबसे बड़ी उपलब्धि हमारा संविधान है जहां देश के नागरिकों को बिना किसी भेदभाव के समान अधिकार दिए गए हैं। हमें संविधान का पालन करते हुए राष्ट्र निर्माण में अपना योगदान देना चाहिए। इससे पहले कुलपति महोदय को एनसीसी कैडेट्स एवं सुरक्षाकर्मियों द्वारा गार्ड ऑफ ऑनर दिया गया | इसके पश्चात कुलपति प्रो. सिंह ने तिरंगा फहराया और फिर राष्ट्रगान गाया गया | गणतंत्र दिवस समारोह में कुलसचिव प्रो. नरेंद्र कुमार राणा, वित्त अधिकारी श्रीमती रश्मि त्रिपाठी, डीन स्टूडेंट्स वेलफेयर प्रो. पवन कुमार मिश्रा, प्रॉक्टर प्रो. प्रणव कुमार के साथ विभिन्न विभागों के डीन, विभागाध्यक्ष, प्राध्यापकगण, अधिकारीगण, कर्मचारीगण एवं विद्यार्थी मौजूद थे | मंच संचालन लाइफ साइंस विभाग की प्राध्यापिका डॉ. अमृता श्रीवास्तव ने किया |
