On 18th February 2025, the Indian National Young Academy of Sciences (INYAS), Indian Physics Association (IPA), and Institute Innovation Cell (IIC) of the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) jointly organised a Lecture on Science for Society. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Sweta Singh, assistant Professor Department of Physics Mahatma Gandhi Central University Motihari Bihar on “Carbon/Graphene Aerogel as an Exotic Carbon Nanomaterials for Hydrogen Storage Application”. Dr. Rohit R Shahi, member INYAS discussed and described about activity and initiative taken by him to promote science education and outreach activities.
The lecture was started with the warm welcome extended to the speaker by Head department of Physics, Prof. Venktesh Singh and the speaker was introduced by the Convener Dr. Rohit R. Shahi member INYAS. Dr. Sweta Singh started her lecture by emphasizing on the research as a promising career for science students, and encouraged them towards the research and higher education. She then elaborated on the potential of Carbon and Graphene Aerogel materials for hydrogen storage applications, discussing their structural properties, high surface area, porosity, and efficiency and utilizations of aerogel for hydrogen storage as well as catalyst for known hydrogen storage materials. The talk highlighted the importance of these nanomaterials in as a sustainable and clean energy solutions.
The session witnessed active participation from students and faculty members (total around 150), who engaged in an interactive Q&A session with the speaker. Dr. Singh addressed various queries related to nanomaterials, supercapacitors and hydrogen storage technology. At the end of the program Prof. Venktesh Singh Chairman IIC CUSB Gaya described the initiative taken by the IIC for the promotion of Innovation and discovery. The talk was also attended by Prof N. L. Devi, Vijay Raj Singh, Puneet Mishra, Akhilanad, and R. P. Singh and other faculty members of CUSB Gaya. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Puneet Mishra, expressing gratitude to Dr. Sweta Singh for her enlighten talk, to the organizing committees for successfully organizing the lecture and all the participants for the active participation
