The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) and Department of Agriculture of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) jointly organized an informative session on the topic "Scientific Interventions in Rural Banking and Financial Inclusion". District Development Manager (DDM) of NABARD (Gaya) Shri Uday Kumar was present as the keynote speaker in the program organized under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh. In this session, the experts explained the role of NABARD and Department of Agriculture in rural banking, financial inclusion, and development of agricultural community.

Shri Uday Kumar, District Development Manager (DDM) shared detailed information on the role of NABARD in rural development and financial inclusion. Shri Kumar highlighted the role of NABARD which includes the process of monitoring various banks and financial institutions and ensuring their effective service in rural areas. He explained how NABARD assists and monitors various types of banks, thereby helping in financial inclusion of farmers and rural communities. During the session, Shri Kumar informed about various government schemes for farmers, including Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Gavya Vikas Yojana, PMFME, Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), etc. These schemes aim to provide financial empowerment and holistic development to farmers.

In addition, Shri Kumar also discussed some of the important projects being run by NABARD in collaboration with non-governmental organisations (NGOs). These include initiatives like watershed development, vermicomposting, and soil testing awareness programmes, which are helpful in increasing awareness about soil and water conservation among students. At the conclusion of the session, Prof. P.K. Singh, Professor, Department of Agriculture, presented the vote of thanks.
