Department of Sociological Studies celebrated International Social Work Day, March 18, 2025

The Department of Sociological Studies, Central University of South Bihar, celebrated the International Social Work Day on 18th March, 2025. The theme for this year was “Strengthening intergenerational solidarity for enduring well-being”. The auspicious day was celebrated with much enthusiasm and by a special gathering of the faculty members, research scholars, MSW students and MA in Sociology students. The event commenced with acknowledging the importance of this day for bringing social justice, equality, and societal well-being. The event was graced by the presence of dignified faculty members, the Head of the department Prof. M. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Prof. Anil Kumar Singh Jha, Dr. Samapika Mohapatra, Dr Jitendra Ram, Dr. Haresh Narayan Pandey, Dr. Priya Ranjan, Dr. Parijat Pradhan, Dr. Aditya Mohanty, and Dr. Ahammedul Kabeer A.P. Their valuable discussions emphasized the significant role of social workers in solving societal problems and representing marginalized groups. They also discussed about the necessity of bridging gaps between different generations to have more robust and resilient societies. This was followed by a keynote address by the Head of the Department, who reaffirmed the department's sincerity towards social justice and community development by virtue of education, research, and fieldwork. The event ended with a formal vote of thanks followed by the singing of the National Anthem by the attendees.
