Convocation Lecture by Prof. Manoj Kumar Sinha at School of Law & Governance, March 19, 2025
The School of Law and Governance, Central University of South Bihar, organized the Pre-Convocation Lecture and Alumni Meet 2025. The event was graced by Prof. Manoj Kumar Sinha, Vice-Chancellor of DNLU, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, as the chief guest, and Prof. Vinay Kapoor Mehra, Vice-Chancellor of B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonipat, as the guest of honour. The program was conducted under the leadership of Prof. Ashok Kumar, Head and Dean of the School of Law and Governance, along with Prof. Pradip Kumar Das, the Program Coordinator.
The event commenced with the welcome address of Prof. Ashok Kumar who introduced about the purpose of the event. The chief guest Prof. Manoj Kumar Sinha gave the lecture on “The Importance of Legal Education in India and the Role of Law Students and Advocates in Public Welfare.” He emphasized upon the relevance of legal education, its role in society, and the responsibilities of law students.The guest of honour, Prof. Vinay Kapoor Mehra, delivered a lecture on “Uniform Civil Code (UCC),” discussing its historical and social aspects and reflecting on its possible implications.
Following this, an interactive session with alumni was conducted. Alumnus Vicky Kumar suggested the creation of an Alumni Platform to facilitate interactions between former and current students, assisting them with internships and career guidance. Alumna Isha Anand emphasized the importance of legal writing skills and other professional competencies for law students. The event witnessed the presence of all faculty members of the School of Law and Governance. Dr. Pradip Kumar Das, the Program Coordinator, played a crucial role in ensuring the success of the event.
In the concluding session, Dr. Deo Narayan Singh delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, Head of the Department, faculty members, alumni, and students for their active participation. Finally, the event concluded with the National Anthem, marking the end of this prestigious gathering.
