Serve humanity after getting degrees said Governor of Bihar Shri Arif Mohammed Khan at CUSB Convocation

Your responsibility should not be limited to getting education from the university and obtaining degrees and getting jobs on good posts, but you should also take care of those sections of the society who have never seen the face of school, college or university. I believe that as an educated youth, after getting degrees from this university, you will play your role in serving humanity along with public welfare and world welfare. The above statement was given by His Excellency Governor of Bihar Shri Arif Mohammed Khan as the Chief Guest during the 4th convocation ceremony held at Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) on March 20, 2025 (Thursday). In his convocation address, while congratulating the students who received gold medals and degrees, His Excellency the Governor said that today is an important day in your life. You will not count the best of your achievements but the first achievement which will inspire you that the life ahead is full of more struggles. The penance and discipline that you have shown here, as a result of which you have received these degrees and honors, will become a part of your life. In the coming days, with even more penance, even more hard work and discipline, you will achieve competence and skill which will be a matter of pride and achievement for you as well as your family, society and country. Congratulating the students who received gold medals and degrees, His Excellency the Governor said that I also want to congratulate your parents and teachers. There are only two people in the world, one is our parents and the other is our teachers who want that their child and student should go ahead of them and touch the heights of success, therefore, only a feeling of respect and reverence can be generated for them. Further, he said that faith is very important for the idea of a successful life, therefore, you should have strong faith in your words and try to preserve your culture, only then you can climb the ladder of success. Quoting the Upanishad sutra "Satyam vad, Dharmam char" to the students, he said that it means speak the truth, follow the religion, and do not be lazy in self-study. There cannot be a better message than this for the students in a convocation ceremony and they should try to adopt it in their lives, only then can they contribute to the building of society and the nation. During his address, the Hon'ble Governor inspired the students through the verses of Bhagavad Gita, Vedas and other ancient scriptures.

As a special guest, Dr. Prem Kumar, Hon'ble Minister, Cooperative Department, Government of Bihar, highlighted the role of youth, especially students, in realizing the idea of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat'. He said that CUSB is playing an important role in this direction where students from different communities and cultures from every corner of the country get education.

CUSB Vice Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh thanked His Excellency the Governor, the special guest, CUSB Founder Vice Chancellor Professor Janak Pandey, former Registrar Colonel Rajiv Kumar Singh, Executive Committee, Academic Committee and other dignitaries for attending the program. Presenting the report of the university, the Vice Chancellor shared the achievements of the past year and future plans. The Vice Chancellor said that the university has had many achievements last year. In the year 2023, the university received 'A' plus plus grade from NAAC with a score of 3.58 and in the year 2024, CUSB has been given the status of Category - One (1) University by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the university has got many types of autonomy.

In the convocation ceremony, His Excellency the Governor Shri Arif Mohammad Khan awarded the Chancellor Gold Medal, School Gold Medal, Department Gold Medal along with degrees to the toppers on stage. During the fourth convocation, a total of 80 students who topped in undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate courses were awarded gold medals. For the year 2021, two students were awarded Chancellor Gold Medal, 10 (ten) students were awarded School Gold Medal while 26 students were awarded Department Gold Medal. For the year 2022, two (02) students were awarded Chancellor Gold Medal, 11 students were awarded School Gold Medal and 29 students were awarded Department Gold Medal. It is worth mentioning that a total of 80 students were awarded gold medals, out of which 59 gold medals were given to girl students while 21 gold medals were given to boys. Along with this, a total of 1346 students who passed Undergraduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) and PhD in the year 2021 and 2022 were awarded degree certificates by the university. In the medal distribution ceremony, Controller of Examinations Dr. Santigopal Pain made the formal announcements and the vote of thanks was given by Registrar Prof. Narendra Kumar Rana. After the convocation, His Excellency the Governor also inaugurated the Jeevak Health Center at CUSB campus.

आपका दायित्व विश्वविद्यालय से शिक्षा हासिल कर डिग्रियां प्राप्त कर अच्छे पदों पर नौकरियां हासिल करने तक सीमित नहीं होना चाहिए, बल्कि आपको समाज के उन वर्ग के लोगों का भी ध्यान रखना चाहिए जिन्होंने कभी स्कूल, कॉलेज या यूनिवर्सिटी का मुंह नहीं देखा | मेरा विश्वास है कि एक शिक्षित युवा के रूप में आप इस विश्वविद्यालय से डिग्रियां हासिल करने के बाद लोक कल्याण एवं जगत कल्याण के साथ मानवता की सेवा मे अपनी भूमिका निभाएंगे | उक्त वक्तव्य बिहार के महामहिम राज्यपाल श्री आरिफ मोहम्मद खां ने मुख्य अतिथि के रूप दक्षिण बिहार केन्द्रीय विश्वविद्यालय (सीयूएसबी) में 20 मार्च, 2025 (वृहस्पतिवार) को आयोजित चतुर्थ दीक्षांत समारोह के दौरान दिया | अपने दीक्षांत संबोधन में गोल्ड मेडल और डिग्री हासिल करने वाले छात्रों को बधाई देते महामहिम राज्यपाल ने कहा उन्होंने कहा कि आज आप सबके जीवन का एक महत्वपूर्ण दिन है आप अपनी उपलब्धियों की प्रकाष्ठा नहीं बल्कि पहली उपलब्धि गिनेंगे जो आपको प्रेरणा देगी कि आगे का जीवन और भी संघर्षों से भरा हुआ है | जिस तपस्या और अनुशासन का परिचय अपने यहाँ दिया है जिसके फलस्वरूप आपको यह डिग्रियां और सम्मान मिले हैं वो आपके जीवन का हिस्सा बन जाएगा | आने वाले दिनों में आप उससे भी अधिक तप, उससे भी अधिक परिश्रम एवं अनुशासन के साथ योग्यता एवं कुशलता प्राप्त करेंगे जो आपके लिए भी और आपके परिवार, समाज और देश के लिए गौरव और उपलब्धि का विषय होगा |  गोल्ड मेडल और डिग्री हासिल करने वाले छात्रों को बधाई देते महामहिम राज्यपाल ने कहा कि मैं आपके अभिभावकों और गुरुओं  को भी बधाई देना चाहता हूँ | दुनिया में दो ही लोग हैं एक हमारे माता - पिता दूसरे हमारे गुरु जो चाहते हैं कि उनका बच्चा और छात्र उनसे आगे निकल कर सफलता की ऊंचाइयों को छुए इसलिए उनके लिए आदर और श्रद्धा का भाव ही पैदा हो सकता है | आगे उन्होंने कहा कि एक सफल जीवन की परिकल्पना के लिए श्रद्धा बहुत ज़रूरी है इसलिए आपकी बात में आपके क्रम दृढ़ विश्वास होना चाहिए और अपने संस्कृति की संरक्षण की कोशिश करनी चाहिए तभी आप सफलता की सीढ़ी चढ़ सकते हैं | उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों को उपनिषद सूत्र "सत्यं वद । धर्मं चर"  का हवाला देते हुए कहा कि इसका अर्थ है सत्य बोलो, धर्म का पालन करो, और स्वाध्याय में आलस्य मत करो। एक दीक्षांत समारोह में विद्यार्थियों के लिए इससे अच्छा संदेश नहीं हो सकता और इसे जीवन में अपनाने की कोशिश करनी चाहिए तभी आप समाज और राष्ट्र निर्माण में अपना योगदान दे सकते हैं | अपने उद्बोधन के दौरान माननीय राज्यपाल ने भगवद गीता, वेदों एवं अन्य प्राचीन ग्रंथो के श्लोकों के माध्यम से छात्रों को प्रेरित किया | 

विशिष्ट अतिथि के रूप में डॉ. प्रेम कुमार, माननीय मंत्री, सहकारिता विभाग, बिहार सरकार ने 'एक भारत श्रेष्ठ भारत' की परिकल्पना को साकार करने में युवाओं खासकर विद्यार्थियों को भूमिका पर प्रकाश डाला | उन्होंने कहा कि सीयूएसबी इस दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका अदा कर रहा है जहां देश के कोने - कोने से विभिन्न समुदाय और संस्कृति से आये हुए छात्र शिक्षा प्राप्त करते हैं | सीयूएसबी के कुलपति प्रो. कामेश्वर नाथ सिंह ने महामहिम राज्यपाल, विशिष्ट अतिथि, सीयूएसबी के संस्थापक कुलपति प्रोफेसर जनक पांडेय, भूतपूर्व कुलसचिव कर्नल राजीव कुमार सिंह, कार्यकारणी समिति, अकादमिक समिति एवं अन्य गणमान्यों के कार्यक्रम में उपस्थित होने के लिए आभार प्रकट किया | कुलपति महोदय ने विश्वविद्यालय की रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत करते हुए गत वर्ष की उपलब्धियों एवं भविष्य की योजनाओं को साझा किया | कुलपति महोदय ने बताया कि विश्वविद्यालय के गत वर्ष कई उपलब्धियां रही हैं वर्ष 2023 में विश्वविद्यालय को 3.58 स्कोर के साथ नैक से 'ए' प्लस प्लस ग्रेड प्राप्त हुआ और वर्ष 2024 में सीयूएसबी को विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग (यूजीसी) ने कैटेगरी - वन (1) यूनिवर्सिटी का दर्जा दिया है और विश्वविद्यालय को कई तरह के स्वायत्तता मिली हैं |

दीक्षांत समारोह में महामहिम राज्यपाल श्री आरिफ मोहम्मद खां ने स्टेज पर टॉपर्स को डिग्री के साथ चांसलर गोल्ड मेडल, स्कूल गोल्ड मेडल, डिपार्टमेंट गोल्ड मेडल प्रदान किया। चतुर्थ दीक्षांत समारोह के दौरान अंडरग्रेजुएट  (यूजी) एवं पोस्टग्रेजुएट पाठ्यक्रमों में  टॉप करने वाले कुल 80 विद्यार्थियों को स्वर्ण पदक प्रदान किया गया। वर्ष 2021 के लिए दो छात्रों को चांसलर गोल्ड मेडल, 10 (दस) छात्रों को स्कूल गोल्ड मेडल जबकि 26 छात्रों को डिपार्टमेंट गोल्ड मेडल दिया गया | वर्ष 2022 के लिए दो (02) छात्रों को चांसलर गोल्ड मेडल, 11 छात्रों को  स्कूल गोल्ड मेडल और 29 छात्रों को डिपार्टमेंट गोल्ड मेडल दिया गया।गौरतलब है कुल 80 छात्रों को गोल्ड मेडल दिया गया जिसमें से 59 गोल्ड मेडल पर छात्राओं को दिए गए जबकि छात्रों को 21 गोल्ड मेडल मिले | इसके साथ-साथ वर्ष विश्वविद्यालय द्वारा 2021 और 2022 में अंडरग्रेजुएट (यूजी) एवं पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट (पीजी) और पीएचडी में उत्तीर्ण कुल 1346 विद्यार्थियों को डिग्री प्रमाणपत्र प्रदान किया गया | मेडल वितरण समारोह में परीक्षा नियंत्रक डॉ. शांतिगोपाल पाइन ने औपचारिक उद्घोषणाएं की तथा धन्यवाद ज्ञापन कुलसचिव प्रो. नरेंद्र कुमार ने दिया | दीक्षांत समारोह के पश्चात महामहिम राज्यपाल ने सीयूएसबी परिसर में जीवक स्वास्थ्य केंद्र का भी उद्घाटन किया |
