Ideathon 2.0 was organized by the Dept. of Life Sciences, CUSB in Collaboration with BioNEST Incubation Centre, IIT Patna, March 28, 2025
The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) successfully organized a one-day "Ideathon 2.0" on March 28, 2025, in collaboration with BioNEST Incubation Centre (IC), IIT Patna. The Ideathon aimed to encourage participants from diverse backgrounds, including students, researchers, assistant professors, and startup enthusiasts, to present innovative solutions to pressing challenges in life sciences. The event covered multiple themes, including Food Technology, Agri-Tech, Microbiology, Biosensors, Bioelectronics, Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, and Sustainable Waste Management.
The event featured an expert keynote talk on "Idea to Market" and an Ideathon Pitching Event in which 25 ideas were presented by the young to-be-entrepreneurs from across the country. Ideathon 2 provides an excellent opportunity to the students and research scholars of the CUSB to understand the process of becoming entrepreneur. A dedicated team of officers from ‘Startup Bihar’ also provide valuable information on the current schemes of Government of Bihar on Startups.
This initiative was led by Prof. Ram Pratap Singh, HoD Life Science and coordinated by Dr. Amrita Srivastava (CUSB) and Dr. Kumar Siddharth Singh, Chief Manager of BioNEST, IIT Patna. The event was organized under the esteemed guidance of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. K.N. Singh & Prof. T. N. Singh, Director, IIT Patna. Additionally, expert talks were delivered on "Idea to Market" and Startup Strategy – by Dr. Kumar Siddharth Singh and Mr. Deepak Kumar. Funding Opportunities for Startups – by Mr. Kunal Prakash and Mr. Shiendra Kumar from the Startup Bihar Team.
The event provided a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to gain insights, refine their ideas, and explore funding opportunities to transform their concepts into successful ventures. This event is a starting point for CUSB to collaborate with BioNEST Incubation Centre (IC), IIT Patna and Startup Bihar for implementing its PURSE project. Prof. Prabhat Kumar Singh, Prof. Prafull Kumar Singh, Dr. Gautam Kumar, Dr. Manoj Panchal and Dr. Sanjay Kumar helped in conducting the program successfully.
