Lecture on PR and Media Management for positive image building by CUSB PRO Mudassir
The increasing importance and relevance of public relations in institutions, especially universities, in the current scenario and especially in the last one or two decades has made it a relevant topic of discussion. A special lecture session was organized by the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh. The program started with the welcome address of Prof. Venktesh Singh (Head, Physics and Chairman IIC) in which he introduced the keynote speaker Mohammad Mudassir Alam, Public Relation Officer (PRO) of CUSB before the audience present in the auditorium. After this, Dr. Sujeet Kumar (Assistant Professor, Media Department and Social Media Coordinator, IIC.) highlighted the need of media, its activities and the utility of public relations in educational institutions. After this, the keynote speaker Mohammad Mudassir Alam, after sharing the important milestones of his 20 years long career in the media field, informed about the roles and responsibilities as the PRO of CUSB. Speaking on the topic "Public Relations and Media Management", Mudassir underlined the growing importance of public relations in the last a couple of decades. He explained how PR plays a vital role in building a positive image of organizations. Mudassir said that the public relations profession teaches you to work without prejudice and public trust can be built through strategic communication, transparency and credibility. He also said that humility, honesty and dedicated work style not only strengthens public relations but also builds long-term relationships with the stakeholders including media houses.

Mudassir also shared practical ways to establish good relations with the media, which include respecting the dignity of journalists and media professionals, prompt on time communication and providing valuable content like videos, photos, etc. to the media along with press releases. He advised organizations and individuals to demonstrate genuine community involvement and impressive work to improve their public image and improve rankings. The session was especially beneficial for students thinking of making a career in the field of communication, journalism and management. After this, the prize distribution ceremony of Ideathon 2025 and Paper Presentation Competition 2025 was held in which Prof. Venktesh Singh, Dr. Sujeet Kumar, Dr. Anurag Agarwal and Mohammad Mudassir Alam presented medals and certificates to the winners and participants. Students namely Smriti, Sharbani, Shivam, Premanand, Bhavana, Isha, Tanya Shri, Saulat Javed, Sakshi, Nivesh, Dilip, and Raja Ambrish played an important role in making the program a success.
