The Department of Library and Information Science at the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) is committed to advancing library science education and research in alignment with the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Recognizing the critical need for professionally trained library and information science (LIS) professionals in Bihar and beyond, the department is launching a 2-Year Integrated B.Lib.I.Sc – M.Lib.I.Sc programme, starting from the academic year 2025-26.

This Integrated Postgraduate Programme is designed to offer students a seamless learning experience from foundational to advanced levels in the field of Library and Information Science. In keeping with the flexibility envisioned by NEP 2020, the programme offers a lateral exit option after the successful completion of the first two semesters. Students exiting at this stage will be awarded a Bachelor of Library and Information Science (B.Lib.I.Sc) degree.

To maintain optimal student strength and opportunities, admissions to vacant seats in the M.Lib.I.Sc. stage will be offered to eligible candidates based on availability and merit. Students who complete all four semesters will earn the Integrated B.Lib.I.Sc – M.Lib.I.Sc degree, preparing them for leadership roles in libraries, information centers, academic institutions, government organizations, and emerging information industries.
