In his address Vice Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh said that we have an ancient tradition of tree plantation and environmental protection, which needs to be rekindled in the current scenario. We should mold ourselves according to the environment, we should make our lifestyle according to the environment and adopt an environment friendly lifestyle. He appreciated the steps and efforts taken by the Government of India under the leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for environmental protection and tree plantation. Under CAP 25, the Honorable Prime Minister has given the acronym 'LIFE' which means Life for Environment to create awareness about environmental protection. Its purpose is that we should make our lifestyle according to the environment which has been our ancient tradition. We have this tradition that when a person used to get up from the bed and put his feet on the earth, he used to bow down to the earth first. This culture has been so sensitive and life is from this earth, this is the only planet on which people live. Forests, water, animals and land, their protection and life is from this, so we should plant a tree in the name of our mother. Expressing gratitude to SSB for organizing a massive tree plantation program in the university campus, he said that CUSB is committed to environmental protection and such programs will be organized from time to time in future as well.
On this occasion, Mr. Madhukar Amitabh, Commandant 29 Corps, SSB started his address by thanking Vice Chancellor Prof. K. N. Singh for agreeing to organize the tree plantation program. He apprised the people of CUSB family present at the venue about the journey and objectives of Sashastra Seema Bal from its establishment in 1963 after the China war in 1962 till now. Mr. Amitabh said that we have to make people aware about topics like tree plantation and environmental protection through campaigns. Whereas in a civilized society there should be conscience towards these topics. Despite the continuous efforts of the government and various institutions, our conscience has not reached that level, so we will continue to run awareness campaigns on tree plantation and environmental protection with the cooperation of CUSB. People present in the tree plantation program pledged to play their part in environmental protection and plant a tree in the name of mother.
