Seminar on fifth anniversary of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, July 29, 2025

The Department of Teacher Education, School of Education, Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) organized a special seminar on the fifth anniversary of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh. Vice Chancellor Prof. K. N. Singh in his message congratulated the organizers and said that 29 July 2025, the year 2020, marks five transformative years of this policy implemented. The program, led by the Dean and Chairman of the Department of Teacher Education, highlighted the impact of this policy on teacher education and the broader educational ecosystem in India. In this commemorative event, faculty members of the Department of Teacher Education, postgraduate students, research scholars and faculty members of other departments came together to reflect on the achievements and future directions of NEP 2020.
After the formal inauguration, Professor Ravi Kant, Dean and Head, Department of Teacher Education, in his welcome address said that the National Education Policy 2020 has fundamentally changed the way we train future teachers. We at CUSB have embraced its mission by incorporating technology-enabled learning, practical learning, multidisciplinary approach and holistic assessment in our academic programmes. He also talked about the problems faced while implementing NEP 2020 and gave some ideas to deal with them. These changes include creating a four-year integrated Bachelor of Education programme, teaching skills, encouraging personal growth, focusing on transdisciplinary learning and providing continuous professional development opportunities to teachers. PG students and research scholars observed how technology is used in classrooms and shared their views on new ways of teaching and learning after National Education Policy 2020. He also emphasized that NEP 2020 has brought about major reforms in education at all levels, focusing on adaptation, transdisciplinary education and use of regional languages. It is worth noting that the Department of Teacher Education at CUSB is actively bringing these changes into reality by using creative teaching methods, involving the community and researching inclusive education methods.
Ms. Srishti, Research Scholar, DTE, moderated the programme and managed the proceedings of the programme. Dr. Mozammil Hassan, Assistant Professor, DTE, Coordinator and Member Secretary, NEP Cell, presented the summary of the programme. Faculty members Dr. Mitanjali Sahu, Dr. Pragya Gupta, Dr. Kishore Kumar, Dr. N.V. Singh participated in the discussion session. The NEP Cell of the Department organized this seminar. At the end of the programme, Co-coordinator Dr. Samaresh Bharti, Assistant Professor, DTE presented the vote of thanks.
