Inauguration of Horticulture Building by Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister, July 31, 2025

From ancient times till now, the country's economy has been dependent on agriculture and presently 74 to 76 percent of the country's population is associated with agriculture. We can achieve the goal of 'Viksit Bharat by 2047' by strengthening the economy with innovation in agriculture and an integrated agricultural system. These statements were given by Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister-cum- Agriculture Minister, Bihar in the orientation programme organized for the students of the Faculty of Agriculture in Vivekananda Auditorium after the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Horticulture Building and Dhanvantari Arogya Vatika on Thursday (July 31, 2025) at the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) campus. At the beginning of his address, the Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister said that this university has been established with the resolve of modern education research. Agriculture is the real picture of grand India, whose social resolve we have taken in the Amrit Kaal of the country under the leadership of our Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

The Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister said that to achieve the goal of Developed India @ 2047, we will have to understand the basis of heritage and culture. Addressing the students present in the auditorium, he asked what has been the basis of our country's culture? Mr. Sinha said that if we think deeply about the answer to this question, we will find that the foundation of our culture is based on agriculture. The axis of our festivals, celebrations, costumes, food, religion and knowledge is based on our culture, which is our strength, but we have forgotten our cultural roots under the influence of other cultures. The need of the hour is that we try to find our cultural heritage and adopt them again, this will lead to the development of the country and India can become a world leader by achieving the goal of 'Developed India' in 2047. The Hon'ble Minister said that today it is not possible to increase the income of farmers and rural youth satisfactorily through only traditional farming, for this there is a need to adopt integrated farming system in which this university is playing an active role. Under the B.Sc. Agriculture course students are given necessary training related to agriculture and livestock along with horticulture, mushroom farming, beekeeping, cattle rearing, paddy plantation etc. which is very commendable. On this occasion, the Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister planted a sapling along with Vice Chancellor Prof. K. N. Singh also fed fodder to the cows while visiting the cowshed.

Tekari MLA Dr. Anil Kumar, who was present as a special guest in the programme, said that it is my good fortune that the university is located in his assembly constituency and it is playing a leading role in the development of this area. MLA Dr. Anil Kumar said that he has been trying for a long time to establish a Kendriya Vidyalaya (Central School) in the CUSB campus and he hoped that with the cooperation of Vice Chancellor Prof. K. N. Singh, it will be established as soon as possible. Earlier, in his presidential address in the welcome speech after the formal inauguration of the program, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh said that "Rishi and Agriculture" has been the priority of this country. The Vice Chancellor said that the motto of CUSB is 'Campus for Community', which aims to develop the skills of the students of the campus as well as the farmers and youth of the entire Magadh region along with the surrounding villages and CUSB is fulfilling this responsibility by conducting courses based on the needs of the region. People of the surrounding villages can also come to the university campus and get necessary information related to agriculture and livestock. The program was coordinated and compered by Associate Professor of Agriculture Department, Dr. Hemant Kumar Singh under the guidance of Dean of School of Agriculture and Development, Prof. Avnish Prakash Singh.
