CUSB Doctoral Scholar Dr. Sarthik Das receives ICSSR Post-Doctoral Fellowship
The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), Gaya, has added another significant milestone to its academic and research achievements. Dr. Sarthik Das, a doctoral graduate of the Department of Teacher Education, has been selected for the prestigious Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) Post-Doctoral Fellowship for the academic session 2025–26. The results of the fellowship were published on the official ICSSR website in February 2026. This accomplishment is particularly noteworthy as Dr. Das becomes the first scholar from the Department of Teacher Education at CUSB to receive the ICSSR Post-Doctoral Fellowship, marking a historic moment in the academic journey of the department as well as the university.

Under the visionary leadership of Kameshwar Nath Singh, Vice-Chancellor of CUSB, the university continues to establish new benchmarks in the field of research and academic excellence. The selection of Dr. Das for this prestigious fellowship reflects the university’s growing reputation as a centre for quality research in the social sciences and education. Dr. Das, who completed his Ph.D. at CUSB, will continue his post-doctoral research under the mentorship of Ravi Kant, Dean, School of Education. Professor Kant expressed immense satisfaction and pride at the achievement, noting that the fellowship not only recognizes the scholar’s dedication and academic merit but also highlights the supportive research environment being cultivated within the School of Education.
Adding further distinction to the department’s achievements, another former doctoral scholar of the Department of Teacher Education, Dr. Suchandrika Hazra, has also been selected for the ICSSR Post-Doctoral Fellowship. Although Dr. Hazra will pursue her fellowship at another institution, her selection further underscores the high standard of research emerging from CUSB’s Department of Teacher Education. The Vice-Chancellor and faculty members of the university have extended their heartfelt congratulations to both scholars. They emphasized that such accomplishments will inspire young researchers and further strengthen the university’s standing in the fields of education and social sciences.
