Special lecture on the 135th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, April 13, 2026
A special lecture was organized by the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) Cell of the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), in collaboration with the Department of Law and Governance, on the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar. Held under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kameswar Nath Singh, the program—themed "Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's Contribution to Social Justice and the Indian Constitution"—featured Prof. Rajesh Paswan from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, as the keynote speaker. On this occasion, the book *Hindi Kavita Mein Baba Saheb Ambedkar* (Baba Saheb Ambedkar in Hindi Poetry)—authored by Dr. Kamalanand Arya—was jointly released by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kameswar Nath Singh, keynote speaker Prof. Rajesh Paswan, and Prof. Ashok Kumar.
In his address, keynote speaker Prof. Rajesh Paswan of JNU, New Delhi, presented an in-depth analysis of Dr. Ambedkar's life struggles, intellectual contributions, and constitutional vision. He stated that Dr. Ambedkar did not merely draft the Constitution; rather, he envisioned a society founded upon the principles of equality, liberty, and fraternity. Addressing the students, he remarked that the path to success lies through discipline, continuous study, and logical reasoning. Emphasizing women's empowerment as a crucial foundation for social progress, Prof. Paswan asserted that the establishment of a true democracy remains impossible until all sections of society—particularly women and marginalized communities—are empowered. He urged the youth to imbibe Dr. Ambedkar's ideas, scientific temper, commitment to constitutional values, and sense of social responsibility in their own lives, noting that only then could the construction of a strong and just nation be realized.

In his presidential address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kameswar Nath Singh highlighted Dr. Ambedkar's "Nation First" approach, describing him as a source of inspiration for generations past, present, and future. Citing the thoughts of Martin Luther King Jr., he further shed light on the universal significance of equality and justice. Public Relations Officer (PRO) Mohammad Mudassir Alam stated that, following the formal inauguration of the program, Dr. Chandana Subba extended a warm welcome to the guests, speakers, and participants, observing that Dr. Ambedkar's life stands as a symbol of struggle, education, and an unwavering commitment to social justice. In his address, Prof. Ashok Kumar, Head of the Department of Law and Governance, emphasized the significance of social equality, equal opportunity, and the prohibition of discrimination, citing Articles 14, 15, 16, and 17 of the Indian Constitution. As part of the event, a collective reading of the Preamble to the Constitution and an oath-taking ceremony were also conducted.
The occasion was graced by the distinguished presence of Prof. Sanjay Prakash Srivastava, Prof. Pradeep Kumar Das, Dr. Dev Narayan, Dr. Anurag Agarwal, Dr. Poonam Kumari, Dr. Chandana Subba, Dr. Sunaina, and Dr. Niharika Singh, alongside Mr. Balam Rajak and Mr. Albinus Topno—members of the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Cell.
