National level Distinguished Teacher Award to CUSB Professor Prabhat Kumar Singh
Professor Prabhat Kumar Singh, a senior professor from Department of English of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) has been conferred with Distinguished Teacher of English in the country honour. Prof. Singh is honoured by the Researchers’ Association of Odisha in recognition of his remarkable career. Prof. Singh was felicitated during a National Webinar organized by the Association on 24th January, 2021. The Association organizes ‘Meet the Teacher’ Programme in which select university teachers of English are felicitated in recognition of their remarkable career. Professor Singh was introduced to the audience by Prof. Ashok Kumar Mohanty of SOA University, Bhubaneswar and the session was chaired by Professor B. K. Das, the President of the Association.
Prof. Prabhat K. Singh in his 29 page address titled “My Romance with Teaching as a Profession” gave a brief autobiographical account of the last forty years of his journey as an English teacher and emphasized the necessity of combining scholarship with intelligibility, approaching the subject with precision and conducting oneself in the department with dignity and punctuality. He elaborated upon the fast-expanding dimensions of Humanities that have opened new spheres of academic enterprise demanding interdisciplinary and answered the supplementary questions. Prof. Singh was highly appreciated by the audience.
Eminent professors and academicians like Prof R. W. Desai of Delhi University, Prof. C. R.V Rao of V.S. University (AP), Prof. Rajnath of Allahabad University, Prof Mohan Ramanan of Osmania University, Prof. Prashant Sinha of Pune University, Prof B. Parvati of Vishakhapatnam University, and a large number of University and college teachers and research scholars attended the programme.
