Pledge for Saying No to Tobacco taken at CUSB

On the occasion of World Anti-Tobacco Day the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) took the pledge for saying no to Tobacco products on Monday, 31st May, 2021. As per the guidelines received from Ministry of Education, Government of India, the University organised the pledge taking ceremony through online mode following Covid-19 protocols.
Under the supervision of CUSB VC Prof. H.C.S. Rathore, the University Registrar Col. Rajiv Kumar Singh administrated the Anti-tobacco oath. He was joined by Deputy Registrar Mr. Pratish Kumar Das, Assistant Registrar Mr. Shashi Ranjan, System Analyst Mr. Ashok Kumar Singh, faculty members, officers and staff. In the oath they said, “On this occasion of World No Tobacco Day, I take a pledge that I shall never smoke & consume any type of tobacco products in my life and motivate my family or acquaintances to not to smoke / use any tobacco products. I shall motivate my colleagues for the same”.
The Theme of World No Tobacco Day 2021 is ‘quit tobacco to be a winner’. It should be noted that the World Anti-Tobacco Day was first celebrated by WHO (World Health Organisation) on 31st May 1987. It was appealed to observe the day every year to create awareness about the harms of Tobacco products. The World No Tobacco Day is observed every year on 31 May to make tobacco users aware of the opportunity to lead a healthier life. The aim of this day is to spread awareness about the dangers of using tobacco and how health problems can be tackled by doctors when one quits smoking.
