Dr. Manjit Singh

Research Highlights: Being a student and researcher in Geography, I have been able to conduct interdisciplinary research and bring out holistic and realistic findings. My research area primarily focuses on Rural Development, Tribal Development, Transport Geography and Disaster Management under broader framework of Regional Development. I believe that a diverse methodological toolkit is necessary to address complex issues and challenges of Rural Transformation and overall Regional Development and I have prioritized these aspects in my training. I am well trained in “Decision Support System Tools” like Geographical Information System, Remote Sensing and Statistical Methods. Towards the commitment of growing my research program, I recognize the vital role of teaching and mentoring students I am particularly cognizant of providing mentorship that emphasizes the importance of diversity in the social sciences.
