Gandhi Fellowship - Piramal Foundation conducted Placement drive at CUSB

Piramal Foundation, a Non-Profit Organisation conducted the placement drive for Gandhi Fellowship at Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. The organisation functions in social and development sector in various states of the country. A fellow is offered Rs. 14,000/- as stipend along with mobile allowance, free accommodation, travel allowance, medical insurance, etc. during the two-year fellowship period. Around 60 final year students of UG (Undergraduate) and PG (Postgraduate) level from various departments of the University participated in the placement drive. The students were given best wishes by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. H.C.S. Rathore.

Under supervision of Senior Programme Leader Mr. Parikshit Munda, the representatives from Piramal Foundation namely Somnath Paul, Mukesh Singh Shekhawat, Rajoo Singh, Mithilesh Singh and Siyaram Sharma conducted the placement drive. The placement process started with the brief description about the fellowship described by Mr. Munda followed by Psychometric test, Group discussion and Panel interaction of the registered students. The participating students were quite elated and optimistic about their selection for the fellowship and giving contribution to the society and nation.

While describing about the aims and goals of the fellowship Mr. Munda said as a catalyst for school change, each fellow brings change in 5 schools by being a resource person for the school principals and by potentially impacting the lives of 1,000 children. Fellows assist teachers and identify when and where Headmasters (Principals) need extra support. Fellows interact and work with teachers, community members and education officials towards the goal of creating model schools, added Mr. Munda.
