The Department of Bioinformatics of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) organized an invited talk on the topic “Bioinformatics Approach for Multi-omics Data Integration and Analysis”. The lecture was organised as a part of the departmental seminar series under the supervision of Prof. Asheesh Shanker, Head, Department of Bioinformatics. The talk was delivered by Dr. Manish Kumar Gupta, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University. Along with Prof. Shanker, the lecture was attended by Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh, Dr. Durg Vijay Singh, Dr. Anil Kumar, research scholars and postgraduate students.
After the formal inauguration, the guest speaker Dr. Manish talked about the genomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics data sets and how to use and analyze these data to cure different types of diseases. His main focus was to let students know about the integration of data sets on different omics levels and their synergistic analysis. He has shared his experience and case studies as a part of his lecture. The major challenge of researchers working in this field is to integrate the data being generated in diverse fields of study. He also encouraged students to make their careers in the field of data science and provided tips about bioinformatics databases and tools.
At last while delivering the vote of thanks Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh thanked VC Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh for his guidance in organizing the talk and expressed his gratitude towards the guest. He also thanked Prof. PP Sarthi, Dean (SEBES), Head Prof. Shanker and the students present in the audience.
