Professor (Dr.) Mamillapally Vijay Kumar Sharma is a distinguished scholar with over 30 years of experience in the field of Sociology and Social Work. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Sociological Studies at the Central University of South Bihar, Gaya. He has also held the position of Head of Department of Social Work at Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari, East Champaran, Bihar, Telangana University, Nizamabad and Osmania University, Hyderabad, Telangana.
Prof. Sharma has earned most of his academic credentials from Osmania University, Hyderabad, where he received his MSW, MA in Sociology, LLM in Labour Laws, and Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel and Industrial Relations with distinctions. He has also earned double doctorate degrees in sociology and social work from the same institution. Additionally, he holds a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship (PDF) in Sociology from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi. Furthermore, Prof. Sharma has been awarded D.Litt. from the University of South America, Montevideo, United States, adding to his impressive academic record.
Prof. Sharma is an accomplished author and editor of several academic books and has contributed a series of quality research articles to renowned national and international journals. His areas of interest include Indian Sociological Thought, Development Studies & Community Development, Industrial Relations & Personnel Management and HRM, Voluntary Sector in India, Medical Sociology, Gender Studies, Social Policy and Planning, Theory and Practices in Social Work, and Sociology of law.
