Under “Fit India Week” Badminton competition organized at Gargi Sadan Girls Hostel of CUSB
Under the “Fit India Week”, a badminton competition was organized at Gargi Sadan Girls Hostel of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) on 10th December, 2023. As per the instructions of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Government of India, Fit India Week was organised from 6 December to 13th December 2023 under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Professor Kameshwar Nath Singh. The girl students participated with enthusiasm in the badminton tournament organized under the guidance of Chief Warden Mrs. Renu (Coordinator) and Co-Coordinator Dr. Neha Shukla. Chief Warden Mrs. Renu welcomed the guests in the program by giving them Angwastram. Professor Kaushal Kishore Sharma, Dean Social Science, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi attended the women’s badminton competition as the chief guest. Throwing light on Fit India Week, he underlined the importance of sports in public and personal life. On this occasion, Dr. Jitendra Pratap Singh, Assistant Director of CUSB and Nodal Officer of Fit India, shared the facts and objectives related to Fit India Week with the guests and students.
The first prize of the competition was won by Deepanjali Basumaitry of the Biotechnology Department, the second prize was won by Fahmi Ansari of the Mathematics Department and the third prize was won by Aarti Mohan M.V. of the Psychology Department. The game was conducted by Chandan Kumar, Mohit Bharanagar, Trilokinath Tiwari and Vivek Kumar of the Physical Education Department. Vedika conducted the program and all the members of the hostel sports committee including Sana, Veenita, Deepali participated enthusiastically. In the end, Warden Dr. Neha Shukla thanked all the players and guests.
