Yuvamanthan Model United Nations (YMUN) Dialogue on “Indian Vision @2047″

A dialogue under the Yuvamanthan Model United Nations (YMUN) was organised on the theme “Indian Vision @2047 to Combat Climate Change and Natural Disasters: One Earth, One Family, One Future” was organised at Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. The event was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh at the Moot Court Hall of Chanakya Bhawan of the University.

 

In his inaugural address VC Prof. Singh said that Yuvamanthan is the initiative of the Government of India which is based on the principle of experience-based learning methods and aim at personality development of the youth. Further he said there are many programmes that are being conducted by the universities across the country for the students, however, such programmes as Yuvamanthan are a very few that help students to learn the skills to face the challenge of the actual world. The YMUN is a simulation exercise that puts the students in the role of international diplomats and encourages them to take stand on issues of pressing global concern.

 

Earlier the programme was inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the VC Prof. Singh and other dignitaries. The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Pawan Kumar Mishra, Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW) who highlighted the theme of the programme. Prof. Pranav Kumar, Dean, School of Social Sciences and Policy acquainted the students with the larger relevance of the United Nations (UN). The event was coordinated by Dr. Praveen Kumar, Associate Professor, CUSB along with Dr. Kumari Nitu and Dr. Anju Helen Bara.
