Inter School Cricket Tournament inaugurated at CUSB by VC Prof. K. N. Singh

The Inter School Cricket Tournament organized on a grand scale at Central University of South Bihar was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Professor Kameshwar Nath Singh at Milkha Singh Sports Complex on February 2024. On this occasion, Chairman of Sports Committee Prof. Pradhan Partha Sarathi, Registrar Colonel Rajiv Kumar Singh, DSW Prof. Pawan Kumar Mishra, Finance Officer Mrs. Rashmi Tripathi, Proctor Prof. Pranav Kumar, Assistant Director Dr. Jitendra Pratap Singh etc. were present.

 

After the formal inauguration, Prof. P. P. Sarathi welcomed the Vice Chancellor by presenting him a boquet of flowers. After this, Organizing Secretary Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, while presenting the report about the competition said that during February 01-09, 2024, a total of 180 students from 10 faculties (schools) are participating in this competition. A total of 9 matches will be played during the competition and according to the performance of these students, 30 students will be selected for the training camp for the Eastern Region Inter University Competition and finally 16 students will be selected to participate.

 

Further, during his address, VC Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh encouraged the students and called upon all the students to participate in these games with true sporting spirit. He also explained the importance of sports to the students and appealed to all the students to participate in at least one sport. Vice Chancellor also congratulated the organizing secretary of the competition and the members of the sports committee and announced the formal inauguration of the competition by blowing balloons. Ayush Pal, student of Physical Education Department, administered the oath to all the players to play with true sporting spirit. The vote of thanks was given by Dr. Jitendra Pratap Singh, Assistant Director of Sports Committee.

 

The inaugural match of the tournament was played between School of Education and School of Social Science and Policies. School of Social Sciences and Policies, batting first, scored 91 runs losing 10 wickets in 19.1 overs. In response to these, the School of Education team started their victory campaign by scoring 92 runs after losing 01 wicket in just 10 overs and registering a big win by no (9) wickets. Vikas Yadav scored the most runs from School of Education, scoring 51 runs on 23 balls and also took 03 wickets. Manoj Kumar scored the highest run from School of Social Sciences, scoring 22 runs.

Prof. Venktesh Singh, Prof. Ravikant, Prof. Amiya Priyam, Prof. Ratikant Kumbhar, Dr. Atish Das, Dr. Kishore Kumar, Dr. Nripendra Veer Singh, Dr. Pintu Lal Mandal along with other respected faculty and officers of the university family were present and encouraged the students.
