Panel Discussion on various aspects of Interim Budget 2024 at CUSB under leadership of VC Prof. K. N. Singh
A panel discussion on the interim budget presented by the Union finance minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman held at Central University of South Bihar (CUSB). The discussion was organised under the supervision of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh. The session was joined organised by the Department of Economic Studies and Policy and Department of Commerce and Business Studies. The panel discussion organised in the hybrid mode (both offline and online) was joined by over 100 participants including the faculty members, researchers and students.
Prof. K. N. Singh in his presidential and introductory remarks appreciated the budget as a progressive and promising one for the Indian economy. He has set the framework to discuss the budget from Viksit Bharat, Inclusive budget, quality education and enhancement of infrastructure point of views. Further he added – in what ways the budget would reduce the sectoral and regional disparities in India in the subsequent period? Prof K. N. Singh concluded the discussion by emphasizing the fact that the budget will play a strategic role in enlightening the path of progress to the Indian Economy in the near future.
Prof. Brajesh Kumar (the moderator of the discussion) initiated the discussion by inviting the co-ordinator Dr. Pawas Kumar to briefly highlight the budget. Then three panellists namely, Prof. S. Subramaniam, Prof. Krishnan Chalil, Prof. R.K. Kumbhar and four discussants Dr. Firdaus Fatima Rizvi, Dr. Atish Kumar Dash, Dr. Rachana Viswakarma and Dr. Pradeep discussed the Budget from various dimensions. The key takeaways of the discussion were that the present budget is inclusive in nature, progressive in approach and a promise for India’s topmost position in the world economy by 2047.
