Viskit Bharat @2047 at Dept. of Economic Studies and Policy
The Department of Economic Studies and Policy of the Central University of South Bihar conducted an orientation cum discussion programme on the theme, ‘Viksit Bharat @2047”, the vision of the Government of Bharat to make Bharat a Developed Nation by 2047 on 20th December 2023. The vision encompasses various aspects of development, including economic growth, social progress, environmental sustainability and good governance. All the students of the Post Graduate programme of Economics and Research Scholars attended the programme and shared their visions about the broad goal of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’.
In the introductory address, Dr. Krishnan Chalil, Professor and Head of the Department spoke about the strength of the country in terms of her demographic dividend, global leadership, New Education Policy and landmark success in Science and technology which can be used for reaching the goal of our honourable Prime Minister by 2047. He also reiterated that, the students, being the part of the youth, can do a lot of things to achieve the goal in the specified time.
The co-ordinator of the programme, Dr. Firdaus. F. Rizvi, enlighted the students on the theme and pointed out that women empowerment is the need of the day. With almost fifty per cent population of the country being women, no vision can be possible without empowering women. Their labour force participation should be increased. Their participation in legislature, judiciary and executive should be enhanced to achieve the vision of 2047. The students have also come forward with their ideas of skilling the youth, promotion of entrepreneurship, reduction of inequalities, alleviation of poverty, provision of quality employment, achieving a target of 60 per cent GER in higher education etc., as the stepping stone to achieve the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047). Dr. R.K. Ojha also facilitated in the occasion. Dr. Rikil Chyrmang, proposed vote of thanks.
